What Do You Know About Loveland Pass in Colorado?

Bob is right. You must carry them Sept thru May. I figure I may USE them starting in Oct.
Since they made it such a lengthy carry season there is no way alot of us can take them out of the truck.
Another plus of the auto chains is they take up no storage space.

Yes, finally, a positive I can say about the truck......we have auto chains. No more frost bitten fingers. Takes days for the feeling to come back and let me strum my guitar after chaining up.

Don't get too positve too quick. Since you run with lift axle down can you chain BOTH axles when needed ? Do you have spares ?
I think a lot of expediters get one set and think they are done.

Just for clarification, so others might understand, care to explain what you mean by this?

I think what he means is that at least one state (WA) requires a second set of chains in case the first set gets broken.

With the trucks that are running the instachains, I would take that to mean that you are required to carry a second set of chains as a backup.

If you have JUST one set of chains it is my contention that you are not legal in ALL states as of last season.
The tag, being non-powered,will probably be good in most,if not all states.
I will research this issue later in the week, if nobody else that stays more up to date posts anything in support of my statement.

Yes, last I knew is that Wa required Two sets of extra chains.
There may be other states that require spares.
Not sure how other states consider tags since I've never been interested in a tag.
