I can't imagine someone trying to convince you EO doesn't have one, since it's not much of a secret (and, like you said, every board has one). It's called the Truck Wash Forum, a forum for moderators and admins only.

The Truck Wash was visible [though inaccessible] to all members before the redesign of the site a few years ago, now it's hidden from us.
I'm sure it still exists [it served a useful purpose], and I'm sure it's buzzing - but the silence on this thread is deafening, innit?

Every board needs a private place for the admin team to bring things for discussion, suggestions, and of course, venting. Most have a place for just the admins and then a separate place for both admins and moderators. It shouldn't insult the membership, it's just a necessary tool.

Elementary my dear terrapin - while it's fairly easily confused (due to the homonymic nature of the English language, where different words sound alike, but actually aren't the same) with that type of tight, elastic, form-fitting piece of clothing worn by little girls when attending dance class, or doing exercises, the difference is markedly clear, and there is really no mistaking one for the other:
