Reliable Delivery based in Romulus Michigan really truly mis represents its self to potential drivers. Heres how they do it. They paint themselfs as being pro driver. When in reality they are out to line their wallets with dollars while the drivers of their company starve.

Heres how they starve. Last month I spent 827.0 in fuel to deliver their freight. This month I spent 426.56 in fuel to deliver their freight and spent 653.38 in vehicle repair. During my short employment with this company I not once seen any fuel surcharge. When the price of fuel goes up. Their driver payouts go down. Where am I suppose to pull the money out of my (3 letter word). Then their is there company vp who is so out of touch with the driver. I was told that I was going to be let go because I dont represent the company well.

I said you base that off of what? He wouldnt give me a straight answer. I said well you as my employer dont represent your self well because at no point have I seen any fuel surcharge in my paycheck. Their for I will be taking you to civil court to get what I am owed.

Granted Reliable Delivery is a courier company and not a expedited company does anyone else out there have issues like this?

It is unfortunate to hear such reports especially when one considers the available technology that could eliminate such improprieties.

Without additional information I am reticent in making a judgment regarding any company. Hopefully, others will shed supplementary light on your assertions.

I will say that FSC’s have always been a concern of mine and even more so now considering the escalating costs we all are experiencing at the pumps.

It comes as no huge surprise to learn that a company would hold back a portion, or even all, of the FSC.

I am surprised, no disappointed, that some companies do not pay 100% of the FSC to the owner/operator and others have resorted to utilizing “Fixed, Flat-Rate” FSC’s to increase their bottom line.

As much as I dislike the Federal Government’s intrusion into one’s personal business, at least they have the common sense, and courtesy, to generate weekly FSC guidelines. Why? Because the cost of fuel changes radically!

Those carriers using “Fixed, Flat-Rate” FSC’s offer, for example, a 15 cpm FSC one week, but the cost of fuel jumps 30 cents per gallon in one day! The shipper is getting charged a FSC by the carrier based upon the Federal Government’s FSC guideline for that week. The owner/operator is getting the same Fixed, Flat-rate FSC for 7days.

How anyone can look upon that system as being fair and equitable is beyond me. It is the greatest scam operating within the transportation industry. Everybody complains about the price of fuel and the “Big Bad” oil companies, but they never consider the huge profits skimmed through the implementation of Fixed, Flat-rate FSC’s. Misdirected oil company frustration is a product of a media driven mindset. Plain and simple, if the subject of Fixed, Flat-rate FSC’s was all the buzz on the six o’clock, as opposed to Exxon and Shell, maybe folks would wake up and smell the gasoline…or diesel.

Once again we have a situation where a moderator either doesn't know the EO code of conduct,or chooses to ignore it.When are we gonna have some consistency as to when and how this code is used on this forum? DD.

BTW this is a violation of #6 of the EO code of conduct.

So was the poster's original, first-ever, post. It was, essentially, the same post as this one.

And once again, there's a member who is quick to point out what he sees as a failure of the moderators to moderate correctly - a big part of why I resigned, myself. The moderators are a group of good folks, who don't get paid for their service here, and the way some folks can't wait to pounce on them is just pathetic, IMO.
Let me ask you this, DD: how much experience moderating do you have? If you have any, how did it go - did you have any ungrateful folks to deal with? Or are you just real good at pointing out what you would do better?

Cheri, the point is more that the rules are made for everyone so why are we, those of us that are so quick to point out the mod's so -called mistakes, the only ones that are expected to abide by the code of conduct or receive infraction.

I'll let Doggie Daddy answer the rest for himself.

I should add that knowing Lawrence the way we do, I think he would expect ALL of his moderators to treat ALL of the members here the same, regardless of who they are.

I see no infraction - the poster has made several other posts, not mentioning this issue.
I see a moderator who attempted to offer reasonable advice, and was immediately pounced on, for doing so.
I see the two DDs tag teaming each other, and not answering the questions I asked, again.

Once again you misunderstood what I wrote. I did not say that this poster should have received an infraction, read it again.

Of course you see it as pouncing, I wouldn't expect anything else from you.

As for the answering of the questions.......AGAIN.....it's a real shame that Doggie Daddy has other things going on today and cannot stop and answer you ON DEMAND, after all it's not been 10 minutes since you posted, but I'll answer you for my part..............................

I was a moderator on this site as well as spending a couple of years as a moderator and then an administrator on another site, so yes, I understand how thankless the thing is but I'd also like to think that I was level-headed enough to treat all members equal and not let my personal feelings get in the way of that.
