Just as many of you suspected, McCain wan't really merging with anyone, he was taking a job with a trucking company and was looking for a free plug for that company. Here's a portion of his post that was moved to a forum for administrators to review:

"I will hire owner-operators, recruit and train them, book their loads but ***** will perform all the back office work - pay the owner-operators, bill the shippers, pay the IFTA, handle the log book verifications, drug test etc etc"

The whole thread was a joke from beginning to end. Pretty much why I didn't say anything yesterday. I was laughing too hard to type.

I don't know about FT Wayne but know when I talked to Greg on phone and email he really appears a straight shooter. I look fwd to chating with him more and future emails. Never caught him in a lie, always up front with me. But what I know I'm a working stiff.
Well
my life in trucking is pretty much over other than driving a rig from whole to whole.

so I havent been keeping up much but wasnt ft.wayne banned from this site and isnt greg mcclain ft.wayne one in the same?

I coulda swore I got a pm from ft wayne once about wanting to drive and he said his name was greg mcclain

But the problem here is MOST PEOPLE don't like straight shooters - the straight shooter is looked at as a smart a**, a know it all, I bragger, a bullsh**er, and it goes on and on.

So, I just roll with the punches, the knifes in the back, the shots to the head - because not a single critic has ever worked for me, worked with me, worked beside me, knows me personally, has ever went to dinner with me, fishing with me or went to church with me.

So until those critics do - they are just blowing in the wind....their comments, insults and twisted stories mean little to me and nothing to those that actually do know me.

So to prove my point, if this doesn't become the third post EO pulls that I have wrote, we will see another onslaught of attacks right after this post.

They all will start with..........oh but you said and then you said and blah blah blah...............YOU DO NOT KNOW ME.....so unless you do your comments are nothing more than words out of a disturbed child's mouth.

Why be so defensive?

A straight shooter seems to be a person telling it like it is with no fluff or bs.

Merging is a process that involves more than two people saying it is a done deal, the legal ramifications alone can sink you to the point that you are living in a box. What you mentioned looks like it is an operating agreement but again I see a flag with a fledgling company being used by a larger company who may be in need of a receptacle which I have seen a lot of. I don’t even know what the advantage to a ‘merger’ would be early in the game – you lack exclusivity in any market and like I said tangible and intangible assets.

I am not saying this to be a critic; I say it to help you.

Ok. I was going to give you the benefit of the doubt. But since you now have the newbies singing your praises I will ask a question and ask that you be a straight shooter.

What happened to your broker business? Straight shot please. I have no problem calling your bank and finding out the truth about your bond canceling. I went on Get Loaded a couple of days ago and saw you posting the same stuff there. (BTW, I noticed you pretty much got the same reception to it that you did here.) I also saw you had rather irate carriers stalking you there for non-payment. NOT GOOD. I will verify this, but it sounds like your bank canceled the bond for you, because carriers were filing for too much money against you! So if you're not paying your bills there, how in the world do you plan to run an expedited freight company? You can't just run every time something doesn't go your way. A successful business isn't built overnight. It takes years. So far, you're not lasting more than six months in ANY endeavor. If your brokerage is in debt because of a deadbeat shipper, go after them and get the carriers the money you promised. Stay in touch with them so they know you are trying to help them.

By the way, this is all coming from a "straight shooter", mainly because I want to like you. If I didn't, I would've just called you a con artist and walked away.

If you were a straight shooter, you wouldn't have went in to all this merger business. I personally have been involved in a dozen mergers with regards to the vending industry and they don't happen in a week. No one has to know you to determine it was a fabrication. If the stove is on, one doesn't have to put their hand on it to determine if it is hot or not.
Secondly, your posts were pulled by one of the mods because you were putting a ad via a link for this company you are working for. Or....trying to be an agent. That is hardly a merger. The content wasn't the issue.
Nevertheless, EO isn't going to provide you with free advertising. That would be unfair to the carrier that PAY and support the site.

CSANDS007,

I'm certainly not trying to rain on your parade, but if you're going to do business with him, you really need to do a background check first.

What happened to your broker business? Straight shot please.

I closed it after getting stiffed by shippers for over $10,000-$15,000. I started the company on a very tight budget that could not recover from that lose.

I also saw you had rather irate carriers stalking you there for non-payment. NOT GOOD. I will verify this, but it sounds like your bank canceled the bond for you, because carriers were filing for too much money against you!

I called the bonding company and opted for them to cancel it. This way if the carriers would contact me we could work out a deal to get everyone paid outside the amount of the bond, be it through small claims or between the parties involved.

So if you're not paying your bills there, how in the world do you plan to run an expedited freight company? If your brokerage is in debt because of a deadbeat shipper, go after them and get the carriers the money you promised. Stay in touch with them so they know you are trying to help them.

I am not involved in the money management of this venture. I hire the owner-operators, book their loads etc etc but the parent company pays all the drivers, bills and collect from the shipeprs

There - straight shots, from start to finish. No BS! Check with the bond company, I made that first call. The thing that kills me about the whole bonding company deal - they don't even have to pay no matter what. So what is the point of having the **** thing if they can tell the carriers they ain't paying anyways.

This has to change!

Ok. So have you contacted those carriers to let them know your intentions of settling up?

Might have been easier and made a whole lot more sense had you provided that information in the first place. Even all that stuff on Getloaded was kind of a sign.

Sorry but something does not seem right. What am I missing?

You failed?

How can you fail at being a broker?

Didn't you have a lawyer in this from the start to help you recover $15k of outstanding accounts receivable?

$15k is a lot of money to let go and you may face a serious audit from the IRS and maybe they will tell you that you can't write off the debt as a bad business debt because you did not make any attempt to recover it in the courts. I wonder what the ratio of that debt is opposed to your general revenue.
