I've never had a desire to Van, but I think I'd like working for Crossroads.

Looking at retirement in a whole new light. :)

Sally doesn't smoke her ribs but they turn out amazing EVERY time!!
I need to learn how to use our smoker. It's electric. Not sure it was a wise purchase.

Sounds like somebody is planning a Hunker. :D

Ragman, I'm in need of hunker training.
Sally's "pops" and brother go to Zyleski (sp?) about once every 5-10 years.
It's the closest thing I've hear to what I've seen described on EO as. Hunker.
My father was pretty absent, in regards to making a boy into a man.
It was the mean streets of Birmingham that taught me how to be. LOL!!
Ok, really I'm still a big wuss. ;)

Electric Smokers are for busy people who can't stand around a wood smoker and keep the fire right.

Just a little truck trying to survive in a big truck world.

Not much to Hunkering.
All ya need is a bunch of guys, red meat, a fire and beer.

A "HUNKER" is a "MAN" thing. It is meant for the male of the species. It is a "RIGHT" passed down from father to son, uncle to nephew, and for a lucky few, like myself, grandfather to grandson.

On first needs a LARGE group of MEN and boys, hopefully all related or very close friends. Hunkers take place at night. It takes a very LARGE bon fire to stand around or "squat" while watching the fire. Older men may sit on properly sized pieces of wood or stumps.

Large chunks of raw, red meat, are speared on sharpened sticks and roasted over the fire, all while the MEN drink "adult" drinks.

After all have eaten their fill, the MEN pass on the "family stories". The boys must sit quietly, absorbing the stories, so they, in the fullness of time, can keep them alive for their sons.

A REAL hunker is a VERY special time in the history of families, I have never forgotten a single one I have ever been at, regardless of which stage in life I was at the time.

Then gentlemen "HUNKER" on up to Joliet, as I got the supplies to build the fire pit including a grill attachment to cook the meat on! I'm now looking for the wooden sticks or will make my own to skewer the meat on! The adult beverages will be ice cold, beer and the (late) mother-in-law's famous adult PUNCH! Lets organize a time and date and make it an Expedting Hunker?

My guess is you really want to visit Murray at CrossRoads Express World Headquarters!

Actually would love to work with Murray; not now, though, cause I can't float for six weeks :(

Left Detriot, was enroute to Meadville, PA to see family. Got a run instead, Erie to Cincinnati. Now at J in Vandalia, Oh; hopefully will tour the USAF museum tomorrow.

Be safe, Harry!! At least the J is new and not one of those supe-high-traffic-area truck stops after hours.
Maybe one day our paths will cross. And we certainly understand the difficulties that we impose on our new drivers. It's a true testament to our guy's abilities to "tote that barge" and keep truckin'!!
No one, at all, can blame ANY driver for not being able to ride our bus.
It's the hardest part of starting with us.
Running harder than you're used to, spending more fuel money than you're used to.
I understand, brotha!

Breakfast at Isis ....the no. 2 was great ....and free was even better

Don't you just put it on John's tab, anyway ?

Note to FDCC Drivers:
I stopped at the Caffee Travel Plaza, in uniform, and tried to put two buffets on their tab; didn't work.

Didn't even get the FedEx discount !

I'll have to talk to Linder about this ! :(
