So we get red lighted to pull in the agriculture inspection station in Florida, we pull up the the window and the inspector asks " what are you hauling " and my brilliant fiance says " fruit......... fruit of the loom underwear " after a few stutters and a long pause he says to go ahead, almost beats the time she told the department of homeland security inspectors that our cat was " an illegal Canadian "

She need therapy ....

If that's by JAX, that guy couldn't care less. He barely moved a mumbly muscle when I went through a couple of weeks ago.
But that's witty, your inspection. LOL!!

Similar to the time I crossed into CA with a Suburban full of co workers, I said just the fruitcakes in the back.

Hey I got the cat in Washington near the border and he's got no papers! :p
And second agriculture inspection station: As I pull in someone chimed in from the back, "CLOTHING!" Just say clothing!"

I was stationed at a radar site in MT just below the Canadian border. After an all night poker game we decided to go for breakfast. The closest town was in Canada. One of the guys got into back seat and passed out at once. When we got to the border he did not move a muscle. Canadian customs asked the usual questions, any guns, alcohol, etc. Then he smiled and asked what our plans were for the body in the back seat. Jerry Lee

Never had it for breakfast, might have to try that some day.

We ALWAYS carry a few cans on the truck. They are great "emergency food" in hurricanes or snow storms. Pretty good when we forget to buy anything else too!

Likely longer than I have left! :p

We also have a couple of cans of "DintyMore stew" and a few other kinds of canned meats.

In winter we at a "Emergency Kit" . A hatchet. Signaling mirror. Waterproof matches. Fire starters and enough freeze dried food for a week for two. Boots, knives, space blankets etc.

Ramen noodles and canned stew or dumplings are normally on our truck...emergency or middle of nowhere and having been shopping stash!
You carry firewood on truck or are we talking at home? I'm just thinking of the weight...though I have enough books to keep me warm if it was them or me! The rest is on the truck and actually used on occasion.
