We worked for Panther and were not happy, Now we are looking at Blair, landstar and Fed Ex. No anything about these companies. We went many miles with Panther and got paid very little. Thanks:'(

I've never heard of Blair. I talked to FXCC and considered them pretty seriously. I decided to go with a smaller company where I'm not just a number. I also looked at Landstar but they wanted experience and I didn't have any. Good luck with your choice.

Well, I only have 2 companies I can advise you on. I was with Blair, but left for personal reasons along with thinking "the grass is greener on the other side". I don't know what I was thinking!!!! I'm back with A. Blair now, but let me first tell you about the "error of my ways".

I went to FedEx Custom Critical. I gave it 90 days. I pretty much went broke. Too many trucks. Too impersonal. They tell you to get FAST, then make no effort to get you near a border to get the final processing done. I went through 2 Contractor Coordinators. Neither did a thing for me. I had to call all the time to remind them that I had been sitting way too long. Nobody should have the opportunity to reset his log twice in one week. I didn't know what to do.

Tom from Blair read a couple of postings I had, and took a chance and called me. We talked for a while and he offered me my job back. We discussed what I didn't like from before and he chastised me for never bringing the problems to his attention. My Bad.

I'm back with Blair, and extremely happy to be once again working for somebody who really cares. When I worked here before, I earned a lot of money because Tom offered lots of loads. He kept me running all the time. I actually got tired of driving so much!!! (Just a side note. In the 90 days I was with FedEx, I went through over $3000 in savings trying to pay my bills since I didn't earn enough from Fedex.) I'm driving a beautiful truck (my original truck was retired, thank goodness) that has all the bells and whistles.

If you want to drive a lot and get a lot of miles, Blair is the way to go. If you look forward to taking every weekend off, look at FedEx. In fact, expect the weekends to be the busiest time for you with Blair. The freight is strictly automotive, and there is plenty of it. If you like being able to make your own decisions, Blair is the place. (After the initial load offer, you'll only make 4 phone calls - At pickup; picked up; at delivery; proof of delivery.) No bed checks, although some loads require tracking which is done by you receiving a call from Blair asking your location. Those loads are rare.

I guess I could go on and on because I'm excited to be back.

I did notice that your profile says you are from Massachusetts. I wouldn't expect to see New England that often with Blair. Most runs are Canada to Texas and back. What could be better????

We are with Panther and have had very good success. They do take a little time to learn, but once you do, you should be successful. They have alot of folks who have done very well with them. Ourselves included. Then again, I quess it depends on what ones version of "little money" means.
