Had the van washed at 3 sisters here in Hesperia .... (man was it bad! .. three weeks of rain, then baked on bugs from the trip out here)

Decided to ask about getting it waxed ..... $160.00 .. told them to get busy!

A couple good products to keep your rigs looking good.
Castle glass cleaner blue and white cans gets the bugs off easy before washing spray, wait a couple minites, wipe off.
Blue Corral car wash.
PRO makes a product called troubleshooter its been arround forever you may need to get it at a automotive paint suply store dosent cost too much either. It's a clear coat cleaner and pollisher. Gets through the bugs, tar, and road grime that gets into your paint.
Carnuba Wax. dont get cheap.:D

Problem: .... I'm not into "wax on, wax off" :D

That requires physical labor .... better performed by someone else! (****, I'm lazy!)

Took my van one time to a truck wash and never again...they blew the paint off the hood.I'm not happy when someone else washes or waxes my van.I used to detail...I'm happier doing it myself. I know the products I want used. I've tried most of them on the market. I normally soap it by spraying it on,then spray wax on it,then wash by hand with a good soap which has a no streak/wax in it,and rinse it.The body beads and so do the windows.Twice a year I hand wax....I apply car wax to the headlights, windows and windshield, does just as well as RainEx.

I like doing it myself too but I live in Ohio. In the winter I have no choice but to use truck washes. I hate them because the stuff they use takes off the wax I put on.

I'm sticking with my normal thinking here. Cleaning van exteriors is a service best performed by cheerleaders. :D

I was told that diesel fuel is an excellent polish. I never tried it. I always wondered if it was true.
