I think its a combination of "The Big 3" now being "Toyota, and some other struggling companies" mixed with over recruiting. Its no secret how bad things are in Michigan and how the glory days of the UAW are over. I think expediting is starting to see the effects this state has been dealing with for a few years. What do you think about over recruiting? Maybe its just me but I cant go 5 miles without seeing an expediter. When signed back into service the other day I was 22nd on the board. Every truck stop I was at yesterday there was a cargo van and I past at least 7 on the road. I like to be moving, making money, when I have to wait for a day everytime I drop off it just depresses me. I can deal with it being slow, I understand there is alot of competition, but when you do get a load after waiting for a day and then you spend 11 dollars a gallon in fuel it just makes me sick.

Hi Guys/Gals;
I am new to this and hopefully awaiting a contract with a company to drive Sprinter Van.
Last weekend I was at TA Truck stop in I-85 Spartanburg, NC and I noticed 3 Panther Cargo Vans,1- Panther Straight Truck,1- Tri-State Straight Truck,1-Tri-State Cargo Van and 1- Express-1 Strt Truck in their parking lot.
I hope that is not a bad sign because I am making a career change to Expediting very soon !
Thanks

So whats your business plan for the future if it stays slow? Payments, insurance, expenses, plus all of the boredom?

A working man/woman not working does not = a happy man/woman.

I think you just answered your own question. Look hard B4 you leap, unless you like a life of sitting in truck stops & BFE's.

We all are very happy for you that you are so-busy, it must be the rest of us sitting around just because we all like to complain a lot and lose money.

It appears semi trucks & trailers must be the ticket item, to make money.

I really hope it picks up for everyone...i hate sitting, and we've done our fair share of it...we haven't received any BIG loads but this past week or 2 we have been running decent, all loads under 600 miles...including a 19 mile load in MI...lmao, and a 200 miler that took 14 hours and 3 stop-offs to complete, in canada.
and now, as past experience has proved time and time again...now that i have said we've been running decent...not great, but decent...we will get stuck somewhere for several days and lose any profit we may have gained.

ps...if youre eggs are cooking in the fridge...it's definately time for a new fridge!!

Ive been in Omaha 3 days now with one offer that worked out to less than a buck a mile taking me to North Dakota!!!

This sucks!!! it has been dead slow for us since February, I wish I hadn't let the wife talk me into a straight truck - definitely should have bought a tractor.

Oh well. If Nightcreature is so busy why does he always find time to post? just curious.
