There is a line of severe storms moving into SE Michigan and NW Ohio. This includes Toledo and Detroit. These storms have produces large hail and straight line winds in excess of 85MPH. US-23 and I-75 are being affected now. It is 1240 local as I post this.

Yep there is and it was hitting Ann Arbor hard and now starting to pour here ... again ... but the ground is dry so it should soak up a lot of the water.

Here in west Michigan we had strait line winds that caused a lot of damage. My neighborhood was spanked real bad and there is the steady drone of chainsaws and shredders yet today. There was a man killed by a falling tree in Cutlerville, not more than 2 miles from the exit 75 truck stop south of grand rapids.

I hear parts of Dearborn were devastated. A major gas line ruptured, huge trees uprooted.

I wouldn't say devastated, but lots of power outages from downed trees. One tree did tear out a gas line supplying a neighborhood, but the damage was contained.

If it hit Detroit, it might actually improve things:eek:
