You have to have a REAL Passion for this. Your already driving if I read right, and now you want to spend up 270 days inside of a truck? This why you had better have a true passion for this. It is not as wonderfull once your in it as it appears.
Its cool to see the sites, if your making $ thats about all your gona enjoy of it. When the truck aint mov'n you are not mak'n $ simply put. We all get to enjoy places, but places, I have been here in Memphis now 6 or 7 times but have only seen it from inside of the truck, its expensive to park it loose income, pay for a cab, rent a car, and become a tourist.
You have to pull yourself off the board, start from the back and build yourself up to #1 for another load.
Other fun expierences are its the same food at all of these truck stops, nasty very nasty restroom facilities but if ya gotta go ya gotta. Rude service towards us at the National Chains that we use the most, mean truck drivers on CBs, and a public that hates us for using their roads, recieving clerks who do not want to give you the time of day after you busted your but to get their load to them on time. A government involvment in the industry that will force you to record every minute of everyday, pee in a bottle at any given time, make you take a physical every two years, watch your every move and write you a ticket that could jeoperdize your career. If you feel you have the passion for this and can withstand what I have written than........ I like it, love it no I now realize how important the home life was, its difficult but it is manageable.
