It's a shame Wanda Sykes dad didn't proactively take her advice and pull out, possibly saving us from a totally humorless female with a horrendously annoying voice. Leave it to this bunch to take this dinner to a new level, and not an upward moving level, a new low level. Change you can believe in alright.

I didn't watch the coverage, but I did see her comments on the news. If the same kinds of things had been said in reverse, like of one of the liberal talk show hosts while Bush was president, there would have been an outcry on the same level as that of Don Imus. The double-standard at play here with Sikes and Obama (who busted a gut laughing at her tasteless and mean-spirited jokes) is just unreal.

I did not watch the thing. I just picked up the information from the web. As mentioned, if the roles were reversed the media would be SCREAMING for heads to roll. The fact that they aren't just shows they are as worthless trash as she is.

There's a big difference between Rush saying he hope's the administration fails and her making a joke of 9/11. I hope the administration fails as well. The more of their goals they fail to reach the better it will be for all of us. So yes, there's a difference.

The difference is that, as far as I know, Rush never wished anyone's kidney's to fail, as Sykes did of Rush's.

Most of you know that with me, there's nothing off limits in humor, including 9/11, AIDs and whatever else you can come up with. But, it's got to be funny. Joking about 9/11 is one thing, and Rush certainly puts himself out there to be a rather large and inviting target of humor and sarcasm (including sardonicism), but her comments weren't funny. They were mean-spirited and full of hate. But honestly, even mean-spitited and full of hate can be funny, but she didn't even attempt to make it funny.

Oh man too funny!!!!!! If you hang on to a lie long enough doesn't it become then true? The media will love Obama as he is always speaking to them, not really to us, but to them. I just love "Somebody needs to come up with a plan, bring it to me and I'll go over it" He used that line a couple times when talking about the auto industry. I though the President was supposed to solve problems not wait for others to solve them for him? Wanda Sykes, oh god, she's horrid

That's why Sikes got away with what she said... because she said it for Obama.

That statement was taken totally out of context and you know it. Well maybe I'm giving you too much credit. Obama wants to hit coal producing places that dont switch to cleaner alternatives, how is this bad?

Hes trying to push clean coal on NEW coal producing plants.

Out of context? Are YOU serious? Being that Obama is on the enviro-whacko bandwagon, and the enviro-whackos say there is no such thing as clean coal, I put one and one together. Obama doesn't believe in clean coal. Therefore, he wants to do away with the coal industry. Biden, himself, said there is no such thing during the campaign.

His vice president said it, his supporters say it, his ideology says it. Walks like a duck, smells like a duck, quacks like a duck. A president doesn't say words such as "I'd like to bankrupt <insert major industry>" without meaning it. Taking something out of context would be like Obama saying "I hate Chinese", if he means the food; but taking it as he hates Chinese ppl.

out of context?? hmm, i didn't hear a word about "clean coal" , just that if they buikd coal plants, he will bankrupt them because of his huge carbon tax( which would be on any coal, sice all coal burnt, produces carbon) and i heard joe say "no coal plants in american....:

I've been working too much to pay attention to this but I am wondering why is the brits seem to be upset with this to the point that they are saying it has gone too far and that "Obama himself is a disgusting piece of ****" (BBC radio) for laughing at the joke.

I think even in Liberal/socialist Britain got it right to ask when is he going to do something.

Here's the quote:

If idealogues like Obama have their way, they will tax out of existance the energy sources that fuel our economy. Notice he doesn't mention nuclear plants as a source of clean energy.

That's exactly right - he does not. If you think he does, then you haven't listened to his program. What's more, he hasn't said anything close to the vitriol that came from this second-rate hack named Wanda Sykes. There's a big difference between passionately defending one's political beliefs and spewing personal ill will at a political adversary. Her comments reflected her complete ignorance and a bias that would have been interpreted as racist had she been white and Limbaugh black. However, just like Jeremiah Wright she is black, liberal, arguably racist, and not subject to criticism by the mainstream media. It should come as no surprise to anyone that she was invited to this event since she fits in perfectly with Obama's inner circle. May as well get used to this sort of thing - we've got 3.5 years left to endure this sort of stuff.
