HI

Thing I do while laid over in a B-unit.
1.Clean truck.
2.Find a city park.Love watching kids play baseball without adults intreference.
3.Go to church of a different religion.
4.Go to the flea markets.
5.Check out main street in smaller towns.Eat at the local hang out.I can usually run into an oldtimer who likes talking about thier town and its history.
6.Find another driver to talk to.More than likely he or she is just as bored as I am.It's pretty cool when you run into each other again a year or two later.

Have a good one.

:-( I looked at what it takes to obtain one's own authority. It is not too problematic. The problem I found, though, is that the insurance to cover your operation is ASTRONOMICAL. If anyone has a different take, I found numbers hoovering in the 10K per year range. Makes it hard to be profitable.

One week in Portland Or, but it was thanksgiving week. The next year (same carrier) one week in Sacremento. We called, they moved us to Salt Lake City for 4 more days. Then .20/mile to move to Minn/St Paul.

... we're no longer with that carrier.

I knew one driver who had a magnetic basketball hoop that he put on the back door of his truck, which usually made it the most popular truck in the lot, and another who took his 10 speed bike everywhere, just to get away from the lot. What you do to pass the time is:
1 Think about what you most enjoy doing
2 Figure out how to do it wherever you are

Some hobbies just aren't gonna make it past step one, but living on the road doesn't mean giving up everything you like to do...:)
