Volvo Dealer Interested In Expeditor Market

I'm with you.
Saw a driver with what I think was a 14,600 axle, weighs usually 14,000 and put tires on it that were rated well under 14,000.
Know a TT driver that got caught with one under rated steer up in the NW. The scale guy caught it. He had to replace it.
I predict this will be talked about a lot in the next 18 months.

Like we talk and network, so does the enforcement community.

When a relative got popped over on her steer in Illinois a few weeks ago, they looked at her tires and her door jamb sticker.

Re: curtains.
I think Fedex is ok with them now.

With upcoming changes, I wouldn't be surprised to see them go.

I recently washed my interior walls.
I wonder if some day pharm trucks will need sanitizing and/or be limited to what else they can haul.

Anyone that has been around food grade tankers will understand this concept.

I thought vinyl curtains were specifically not allowed to be used at fdxx. I would prefer a mid roof at least. Love the idea of more options when making a purchase. Yes, approximate price as shown? Thanks for posting Zorry.

As far as I know they curtains are allowed. I know of at least one FDCC truck that has them. Skinny buns are no longer allowed

IF they start limiting what pharma trucks can haul, rates will have to come WAY up on ALL loads. Just not enough of the really clean, high end work to support a specialized fleet like that.

I did not see a pallet jack in that picture.

The new rules are coming. I was just speculating as to where they may be heading.

PJ behind me in pic.
On COE I had ability to haul PJ on my dolly legs.
Good, but in the weather. :(

New rules/regs and declining rates is why I am not shopping for a truck. Getting tired of it all.

I TRIED to make my truck more "friendly" for pharma and FDCC would not let me. Now it's too late. I cannot see dropping a quarter mill on a truck, UNLESS, things settle down and rates go WAY up. Don't see either happening. Now I would likely require a guaranteed MINIMUM rate and a set scale for fuel and regulation based cost increases. I am tired of eating it all.

If nothing changes when this truck goes, I am done. I am far too old to go that far in debt with a bad outlook for return on investment.

Sell it and open a gym.

No gym. I would want to do something "special" with the rest of my life. Gyms and trucking don't fit my dreams. Not that I could afford any of them.

There should be a new type of truck now anyway. The trucks we are using now don't meed the needs of the changing market.

Don't you want to be a team player?

That's a super nice truck. Looks wise blows the cascadia out of the water IMO. Plus I've always heard great things about the Volvo trucks

Sure would hope that Volvo's customer service and repair shops are better. It would be nice when the KNOW they have a problem with parts that THEY would fix it, not the truck owners like with Freightliner.

We had ten Frtlnrs in the early 70's .
Was a big fan.

Pre Hebe.

My 2001 Western Star was built in Canada. Then They sold :(

My Volvo dealer experiences have been 90% positive. I avoid Bruckners over one bad experience.
Overall I believe the dealer satisfaction will be higher.

It would have been easier, faster for me to buy a store bought Frtlnr than spend six months building a truck.

Overall I think it was worth the effort.

And the funny think is they are made on American soil by American workers.

Dublin, Va.

So, Phil says he got right into WG because he had " Good Teeth".

Now you say you qualified because you no longer had "Skinny Buns."

Boy, the Fed was weird back in the day.

And gets weirder with each passing moment.

I'm pretty sure our Cascadia ( the cab and chassis ) was produced in Monterrey, Mexico.

In 1986 I sold new cars. We had a little Mercury produced in Mexico. (Tracer ?)

Whenever I got in one I set all the radio presets to Spanish Stations.

I thought it was funny at the time.
