very bad service

it all started on the 13 of aug I was heading from greencastle pa to egmiville pa for a pick up. on the way over i started hearing a very weird noise under the hood like some thing was rubbing. When I arrived i lifted the hood nothing but i still herad it so I call in and then took it to York pa. when i got ther they told me not to turn it back on there was something wrong with the engine. they could not look at it for a week so they had it towed to a brand new shop in Mt Joy Pa 45min drive. well when I got there the co put me in a motel for the night. when i called about the truck the next morning they said one of the rocker arms had fell off and there was a stuck valve. they wanted to investigate futher so the went futher in side and said the would have to replace the camshaft also well that was friday. when they ordered it and said it would be in monday well monday came and went and nothing, the part didnot come in untill thursday then they went to work on it On friday about 5 pm they finally got it donethe people were very sinceare but the people that they got the part from was horrible and that was an INTERNATIONAL warehouse

well its Sunday and im back in ohio picking up in Wooster I'm just praying no more truck problems

Can u advise how many miles were on the Engine and was it a DT 466 engine. The DT 466's have been around a long time and are usually bullet proof. Now the rest of the truck may not be. It seems like International has had some quality problems recently. I know of a local company that has 6 fairly new Internationals and have had lots of minor problems with them

So I am trying to get this, the service was good at the shop but it wasn't the warehouse that gave good service?

Warehouses don't carry every part for every truck and don't really spend a lot of time on customer service, maybe this was the problem?

Well tell you the truth, if I am sitting anywhere for a few days while my truck is down and told that the parts will be here soon and are not when they say, I would be on the phone calling other dealers and other warehouses to find the part(s) and have it sent to me at the hotel to get back on the road - even if I have to have someone put it on a plane and pick it up at the airport.

It seems to be a little more responsible to make sure that every possible means to get the truck on the road to keep it making money is made, a day down is money lost.

168,897 miles dt 466 and we even found the canshaft and were going to bring it in on one of our truckand they said no they were going to handle it
the people at the shop were very friendly imnot actully sure who screwed it up
