I plan to subscribe to the VZ Navigator from Verizon.It is an extra $10.00 a month,but they are offering a free two week trial period. If it dosen`t prove useful I will cancel.

In reading their FAQ`s the following was interesting and never came up while talking to the Verizon rep.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Can I ensure that a route is traversable by truck?
Yes. From the main screen in VZ Navigator, select Options (Right Soft Key) and then Preferences. Select Navigation, then Trip Settings, and then Vehicle Type. Use the Rocker Key to select Truck and press OK to save the setting.
It will be interesting to see how "truck friendly" this will make the device. I.E. low overheads,and bridge weights.
Anyone out there already using it?
Hi Redytrk, I tried the verizon navigator for a few days and really liked it, however it will burn your battery quickly if you use it thru your phone and if you do not subscribe to the package, you will be charged your minutes. They quoted me the whole package at 19.99 a month so make sure you aren't getting charged minutes besides your 9.99 a month. Good luck.
Tried it and didn't find it that useful. Many dead spots, may be fine if your only located in a city. Just canceled and went with a Garmin 340.
We have a VZ navigator on a LG The V phone. It works pretty good (usually) if your on extended network it won't or in Nebraska humm. The minutes tick when you first connect but once your linked your ok. Some areas with weak signal can't get on. We used it exclusivly for several months and have recently switched to a Garmin much more reliable but still have VZ for back up which still has saved us several times, looking up wrong addresses, Wal-marts, local searches etc.
Hope this helps.
