Verizon 4G ... not so fast neighbor!

Purchased a MIFI4510L last week in Kansas City, now in Bowman, Sc .... some issues ...

The thing will not do a seamless handshake from 4G to 3G, it's like it starts out the door, and slams it's fingers in the door!

Takes a cold reboot to make it work

I spoke to Verizon about the aggravation, they escalated it, but here was the CSR's thoughts.

Either the network it's self has issues, the software in this new unit may need a major update, or it may be the hardwear.

Now, when solidly in either area, it works fine and the 4G screams.

It's just that shadow area from one system to the other it has issues. Might I suggest if ya thinking about one ... hang on a bit for the bugs to be worked out.

Thank you for posting this. I have been considering this because it seems that our MIFI2200 runs slower now that the 4g stuff is out there. I haven't taken note of where we are when this happens except that home is definitely one of those places.

Also, my son just purchased one of their 4g phones and it's running circles around my droidx, even in 3g, must be the processor. I didn't think anything was going to make me let go of my x but I'm looking to later this year when the choices are more plentiful.

Please keep us posted concerning your MIFI.

Ok, went to the web site and I see that you're talking about the new one from Verizon. A couple of weeks ago when I was thinking about it the only one they had was the Samsung and the one you have has higher ratings.

Have you gone to the customer forums over there to see if your problem is a common one?

I've got a 4G aircard, the the LG one. I haven't been in 4G areas much, but when I have it just screams. I've only been in a fringe area once, and didn't have any problems, but that was several weeks ago.

Waiting on my phone's contract to run out before I upgrade to a 4G phone.
