Do any of you solo guys have a solo friend with a linked fueler card so that your 1/2 shower credits are worth double?

nope, but i can tell you that with the credits expiring every 10 days (i might be wrong on the number of days, but they do expire) it has never been an issue for me as i pay enough gas to keep the credits available...other then when i have been out of service for more then a few days....

my truck still does not like pilot or j fuel. we still shower and just pay the 10 bucks. whatsa big deal? i would rather pick my fuel than be obliged to one supplier.

If you are running reasonably steady Leo it usually isn't an issue. Ya just have to plan your fueling a bit. In September I couldn't use the showers I had, and I HAVE to shower every day so it ain't hard to keep ahead.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I usually fuel at the big truck side, and ask the desk person if anyone has left a shower behind. more than likely, I get a free shower on top of what I get.Yes, I hogged out my opening (the restrictor part)to accomodate the larger nozzle.

It's just that some fuel stops don't have fuel pumps for vans, picjups, and some the fuel card only works on the big truck side...so,....I took care of that little problem.

Dennis,

I was just in a Flying J today. I remembered your post about the expiration so I asked. You get 1 week from the time you get the credit to use it.

Also, she told me it was only good for diesel, & not gas. Last but not least she said 30 gallons would indeed get you a full credit, but most vans don't tend to buy that much at one time.

I have a gasser. If I'm going to pay $10 for a shower, on those rare times I can find a hotel or motel for under $30, I'll be staying there.

Also keep in mind credits expire at
2am eastern time...
1am central time...
3 am Atlantic time
3:30 am Newfoundland time...

11pm Pacific time

Which is midnight in Utah where the J's computers are located..
mountain time zone

It's been a while, but the reason I got my Flying J Frequent Fueler Card in the first place was because it worked for both diesel and gas. At the time I had a gasser. And for every 20 gallons I got half a shower credit. That's now 15 gallons instead of 20, but as far as I know, it still works for gasoline and diesel both.

With every minimum 50-gallon fuel purchase members receive:

  • Free shower and fountain drink with a minimum fuel purchase of 50 gallons or more at Flying J locations (fuel purchases between 15-49 gallons receive ½ shower point and ½ drink point which will automatically be credited to your account)

Danny,

What Turtle said!! She is right and wrong....I have a gas van...so it works for gas purchases also, yes a FULL credit is issued at 30 gallons...but 1/2 credit is issued at 15 gallons...so she is wrong there...and also if you fill up and only get 13 gallons, then the next time get 20 gallons...you now have 1 full credit...as for them expiring in 7 days, that she is probably right but its not hard to keep enough credits there for the most part.....oh and when i get a shower, i also get a "Drivers cup" and get a coffee or coke when i get out of the shower....not sure it that takes a 1/2 cerdit or not, as said, the credits buildup quick.....the only time i have ever ran into not have enough was after being out of service for a week or so...other then that, they are always there...

Also, if you go to the Flying J's Web site, on the left is "Loyalty Online" menu selection, as well as a Login Button over on the right. You register with your card number and then you can get online and see you shower and drink cup credits, see exactly when they expire, as well as your coupons balance, and some exclusive offers and discounts to card members. Click the "details" popup links to see the, uhm, details. You will also notice, as OVM said, that all shower and drink credits are good for seven days and expire at midnight (00:00:00.00), but that's midnight Ogden time, 2AM in the eastern time zone.

You can also use the drink credits for refills on the big drink cups.

On the gas not being able to get a credit I hope she was wrong. I'll find out soon enough hopefully.

On the 30 gallons getting a full credit, I may have stated that wrong. I should have wrote that she meant you get a half credit at 15 gallons & a full credit at 30, but most vans don't get 30 gallons, so they tend to get half credits. I didn't know about the 12 + 20 equaling a full credit. I would have figured the 20 got ya a half one & the 12 ya fell a bit short, so would have had 1/2 credit.

I tend to get my gas at Speedway because of their rewards points. I'll be switching over if the shower credits hold up w/ gassers.

...and also if you fill up and only get 13 gallons, then the next time get 20 gallons...you now have 1 full credit...

Are you sure about that chef?? I watch my credits like a hawk and have never seen that happen. I have also filled 16 gallons at say 3am, gotten the half credit, and then filled another 15+ before midnight and do not receive any further credit.

As far as showers and vanners, this one scrubs daily, credits or not. I am not going to represent FedEx or , more importantly, myself smelling like 3 days of interstate fragrance.
