Come to the Expo in detroit, Aug 11-12. You'll see all manner of sleeping situations folks have developed for their vans. Motels for the expediters, including van drivers, are a luxury nowadays. We generally get a room on sundays after doing van wash, clothes wash chores. During the remainder of the week we have plenty of room in our 72" x 48" sleeper, located behind the seats and separated from the freight by an air tight wall. Others we've seen have bed located in a raised roof and lowered electrically or manually. BTW the best way to get a run offer is to commit to a motel room during the week.

Yes, come to the Expo in Woodhaven Aug 11/12.
There are a number of devices that will allow you to stay comfortable (heat & air conditioning) without having to idle your engine. Before too long, the "Idle Police" will be writing citations to drivers idling their engines. We can help. Call 800-837-3900.

Hi! As the other folks said there are any number of ways folks sleep in their vans. Motels are just so expensive and as sure as you check in you will get a load and have to leave it. My advice isto start with a simple bed and then as you find out what you need and see other people's ideas you can come up with a design that will suit your taste. Check out the following links for ideas. The first has some pictures buried in it of my old regular Ford van. The other two ave pictures and such of my new Ford/Unicell van. You may pickup some ideas you can use. Dieseldoctor
