Does anyone here know anything about Valley Transportation out of Ashtabula? I'm almost done with my truck driving school and I'm considering going with a flatbed company. All suggestions on other flatbed companies are appreciated.

I have never heard of valley, but mcelroy truck lines out of cuba al is a really good flatbed company to work for. They guarentee you home every weekend and there starting pay is tops!! T.M.C is also another good company to consider. Both offer a good training plan that last about 6 weeks with a trainer. The only down fall to flatbedding is the tarping, doesnt sound bad till its 20 degerees outside and those tarps are froze!! Good luck and happy skateboarding!!! :)

I am familiar with Valley Transportation. They are in ASHLAND, Ohio, not ASHTABULA. They do full flatbed loads all around the midwest and southeast. I hear they keep they're drivers very busy. They are almost all company trucks if not 100% company trucks.Very nice equipment too.

the key to tarping loads is to develop your own system to get the job done that you are comfortable with. i mean the tarps have to be a certain way but the way you get it like that is on you. you'll understand what i mean once you've done it a few times. it's just a practice thing. i really enjoyed flatbedding because you got out of the truck and did a little work every now and then. just be sure you have a good flashlight and rain suit. it sucks on a rainy nite with no flash light or rain suit at an on ramp checking your load.
