Actually 3 and half. I was kinda dissipointed at the amount of fuel I used in that time, I figure it to be about 40 gallons or just under. Very hot almost 100 from noon until about 7pm. What was difficult was the heat from the Sun, Laredo it cooked everything air temp seemed pleasant in the shade but go for a walk NO WAY.

Wanted to ride my bike around but it was just to hot I would need an imm shower if I did.

What kinda mpg are other APU's delivering?

No it was not Tsh Tsh Sat Sun Mon was a holiday, Tues. Went down there knowing the freight was dead for a holiday weekend. No one moved from my Observation until Tuesday and than everyone was gone or leaving when I got a load. Pro-Heat

That would be around 85 hours on almost 40 gallons or barely over 2 hours per gallon. That sounds way too high. My Willis runs about 3.5-4 hours per gallon when on high for running a/c. When it's running on low for electricity or heat only it will run 7-8 hours on one gallon.

I got a really DUMB question.

Is your sleeper insulated? I don't mean just sound deadening but real insulation installed properly.

In my research (don't laugh) I found that until recently none of the truck companies cared about proper insulation installation in the sleeper to save energy. I know of one truck onwer who's sleeper is super insulated he has elminated some of the latent heat form the engine and transmission.

As much as stupid as it sounds, it really makes a big difference.

I have a proheat Gen 4, it took about 100-150 hours to get it to cut back on fuel. It was consuming fuel at 1/2 gallon/hour +, now its at 300 hours and it has cut WAY back something like 1/8th gallon/hour.

ProHeat is advertised as 1/4 gal per hour. Anything more than .3 or less than .2 gal per hour is probably improper functioning.

Greg, has a great point about the insulation in a truck sleeper's. When we gutted out the sleeper in the truck we just tricked, the insulation was so thin that I tossed it in the trash. I went to Home Depot and got the same insulation that is used in a house. I will say this, I wish I would have done this a long time ago. It has made a big difference, the sleeper now is more sound proof and holds the heat out better too. I had to turn down the A/C because it was colder in the truck than it was before.

We are now thinking of doing it to our other truck's that have the same kind of walls that this truck had. My wife and I have talked about for our next new truck we are going to have a Box company making us a sleeper shell and do the inside of the sleeper the way we want it done. The cost of doing it yourself is alot cheaper than paying $25,000.00 to $30,000.00 for a 96 inch sleeper.
