Now that the Navy is firing back since WW2 and doesn't have to call Mommy for permission to fight, enlistments must be up and so is the pride, yea, all ahead full and ****n the torpedoes.

Because as stated when the Soapbox opened...the rules are loosened somewhat....because by its very nature of subject manner, things to go weird...very little moderating is done.....except when people get rude and personal.....now back to your regular moo moo discussions......:)

While I do appreciate what you mean by things do go a little weird in a thread - but that is usually well into the thread not the first 2 posts after the OP. :rolleyes:

and then look at the personality posting it....take that into consideration.....and then 3 posts later it came back on topic.....NO moderation was required.....
Moderators are typically lazy to start with.....LOL.....we don't want to work at this...the pay stinks....LOL

I'm Veteran myself.......Patrolled the East/West Border between W Germany and East Germany/Czechoslovakia back in the early 80's. Our Patrol was fired upon once....and the shot came from the other side.

Had a LOT of friends back then that did a year in the DMZ in Korea.....Heard a LOT of stories of firefights that never made the news. (remember...this was well before the Internet..Cable News...AND Cell Phones)

Where were you at? We used to spell the 11th ACR each year so they could do their Gunnery.

Main Base was at the 630th Military Police Battallion (18th Brigade) in Bamberg. Was assigned to Hof Germany working with ZOLL and Polezei patrolling about 60-70 miles of the border, both E Germany and Czechoslavakia.

You didn't happen to be part of the 2/2 ACR Cav Unit out of Bamberg we had to put up with for 4 weeks at a time a couple of times a year....were ya?? If so.....I might've thrown your drunk dotdotdot in jail a couple of times. :)

3/8th Cav. 8th Infantry. Coleman Barracks near Mannheim. We were in the Fulda gap a lot. When we were in the 'field' we were not out drinking on the economy, strictly enforced.

So what either way? IF you take a small boat into range of a war vessel you should expect to get your donkey shot off. Just how stupid can you get? After the Cole? Good shooting Navy!
