Smoking is but one factor that can increase the incidence of lung cancer. Over 20% of all lung cancers occur in nonsmokers. 1 Smoking by itself can not cause lung cancer. The process of developing cancer is complex and multifactorial. It involves genetics, the immune system, cellular irritation, DNA alteration, dose and duration of exposure, and much more. 2 Some of the known risk factors include genetics, asbestos exposure, sex, HIV status, vitamin deficiency, diet, pollution, shipbuilding and even just plain old being lazy. 2 When some of these factors are combined they can have a synergistic effect, but none of these risk factors are directly and independently responsible for "causing" lung cancer!

I know everytime I light one up what risk I am taking. I know what risk I am taking everytime I get behind the wheel of my truck on I-75. When I eat butter, red meat, potato chips...you name it.

Far as I know, we only go around once, no one is immortal, and who really wants to live forever?

I knew someone who tried to do things right. Never smoked, quit drinking at a young age, active,followed doctors' advice and took medications as prescribed, but at age 54, due to genetics, became a resident of an urn on his gun cabinet in my guest room. What was that all about???

Nah, I am going to enjoy life soberly, not take others down with me, and go out without fanfare.

Maybe next Tuesday?

Just keep in mind that the leading cause of death is EXACTLY the same for smokers or non-smokers, drinkers or non-drinkers, in this country and EVERY country on the face of the earth. The ONLY REAL cause of death is conception. EVERY person conceived, dies at some point. They die before birth, during birth or after being born. That is how it is. NO ONE has EVER "saved a life". All anyone has done was further postpone a death. Live as you chose and for goodness sake, keep government OUT of our lives!

Why not pictures of starving children on McDonald's packaging..?

Why not tortured animals on cosmetics products..?

Why not put the photos of the victims of drunken drivers, on beer and wine bottles..?

Why not pictures of dishonest, thieving Politicians enjoying our money, on tax returns..?

Oh, okay, gruesome photos will deter minors' smoking. Sure. Worse than Joe Camel, this idea will cause 14 year olds to all want to carry open packs and smoke in front of their friends to prove they're not scared of black lungs.

Well, let us think about all thisView attachment 2715 Me and a Panther driver were just discussing this over a Lucy Strike at the Wildwood Truck Stop near Laredo.

Then he had a brainphart, why not buy a few cartons of smokes and save them and them pictures will be worth 100s of dollars in about 10 years on Ebay, well its a thought
