Anybody ever work with U ship? I see the banner here on E/O.
I see allot of the rates are insanely low and I wanted to know if carriers actualy make money on it or loose thier shirts and what are the catches. I refuse do the lowest bid thing for less than my expenses and salary and pay for somone elses freight move, brokers are bad enough. Also, are there any hidden fees as they require a creddit card or paypal account. Kicking the idea arround for times when Im stuck without freight or local work.

For me the hassle isn't worth it. Watch for some shippers, they might agree on a price than on the other end welch on some of it (damage etc). A lot of people shipping on U Ship are buyers off the internet and wholesalers, looking for the real deal. Be careful.

Short and sweet if your worried about cheap freight steer clear but i have used it to off set fuel cost on an emergancy trip home but i was lucky to find a load near me goin home lol

after watching the show Uship/shipping wars I think it is more trouble than its worth

I did some homework U ship on the net. Looking through thier site brings up more questions and it looks that they are playing carrier and freight broker without authority, bond, or insurance unless its somwhere in the fine print where it gets lost. Because they are arranging the movement of freight and getting compensation that is brokerage. So, is this legit or a scam?
I think I might just pass on that idea or if I take a job I will definitely cover my tail.

They don't arrange anything....it is up to the seller or buyer...usually from E-Bay articles

All 3 are stand alone entities with their own expenses and started as their own companies later paypal was purchased by ebay. Uship is not part of or owned by ebay.

So, its like a load board? The only thing Im not to crazy about is the payment systeme.It looks like you have to go through U ship to get paid and if the shipper dosent pay your S.O.L.
Those who have used U Ship can I get paid dirrectly from the shipper and can you specify payment at pickup?

I think Uship takes a deposit the remaining you collect from the customer.
