U ship

Another thing to remember is that UShips actual number of items being shipped VS number of items there is to bid on is very very low.

A large percentage of UShip users are people just looking for a shipping quote for an item they are considering bidding on on E-Bay. They go to E-Bay.....find that rare item they've been looking for....an item that can't be shipped via FedEx, UPS, or the mail. Let's just use an 8ft X 12ft Statue of a Pink Unicorn as an example here, OK. They Love that Unicorn, they WANT that Unicorn, but how in the world are they going to get that Unicorn from San Diego California being all the way up in Portland Maine???

10 days left til auction ends.....they gotta do something....so they start the bidding process on UShip. 2 things will happen.......First being some fool will tell them "Yeah, I'll bring that thing to ya for $80", which allows them to go ahead and bid up to $200 on EBay for it. Once that Unicorn hits the $500 mark ($300 above what they're willing to pay) they just blow off the auction. Or second being that the item only gets up to $50 on EBay, but they've been quoted prices UShip of $1100 to have it brought to them, so they blow it off in that regards too and just forget about owning an 8ft X 12ft Pink Unicorn.

Tell you what......try your own experiment. Take 12 items in any general area on UShip. (12 items in Dallas, Atlanta, Tuscon, etc) Make sure it's from "Individuals" wanting something shipped and not one of those "Commercial" type of shippers that has completed dozens of shipments. Watch those 12 items til the end. My bet is that Maybe 3 or 4 of those 12 items will be shipped....and the other 8-9 will sit dormant for the next few months until UShip purges it out of their system.

Again....Not worth it.....and why am I even discussing it??? The Horror!! The Horror!! :)

Most that really know me, know I would never advise anyone to do anything I felt was a bad deal regardless if they were an advertiser....
Brisco must surely remember Alumi-junk?...LOL and they were an advertiser....

It's true that many negative posts made there way onto the forums about Alumijunk, but if you tried to berate them at every opportunity like I did for the 4 years that I owned their crap product then you would find yourself facing censorship and reprimands just because they were an advertiser.

I remember those days....turns out you and others were correct...they made junk with many problems....hard to be supportive as the evidence mounted up against them...

It depends on what you want to haul and how much time you're willing to invest in it. I do driveaways through uShip when I'm not doing anything else. That is, driving a vehicle (whether it be a car, truck, straight truck or whatever) from point A to point B. But it seems I'm a rare breed on uShip. There are lots of packages, skids, parts, non-running vehicle, etc. that need to be shipped. Whether or not you have the time to always make sure you have something on your truck, well, that's up to you.

The car haulers and motorbike guys seem to do well....especially with all the bike rallies.....some take 8-12 bikes at a time....drop them off, hang around and take them back...
