Two Observations

Occasionally I click on the logos here on EO for the different expedite companies to read what they offer, and what they are looking for. I never see any truck specs listed, as to what age vehicle they accept. Anyone else notice that? Rule of thumb was always 5 yrs. for a straight, and 10 for a tractor. I never could see the logic in that. A well maintained truck has the potential to go the same distance and give the same service, no matter what the class. Also, I occasioanlly look at what equipment is available thru the different truck sources like, EO classifieds, and the listed dealers, or truck paper etc. Something that always bothered me, are the ads, that say "call", instead of quoting a price for the vehicle. I never call. I know I´ll be talking to a salesman, and truck salesman remind me of used car salesman in my experience. I never met one that I trust.

I noticed that also, what I've done is google the co. name and go straight to their website. In some cases they list their truck requirements and more info there, if not you can always e-mail or call them and ask. I believe the EO ads are mainly for filling out personal info needed by the co., although some of the ads will give pay info, dispatch procedures, haz-mat requirements, etc. Tom.
