Go to a good CB shop and get a Rabbit ears from them. I got one from Trexlers near Allentown (where the old truck stop was, now torn down). The point is to have thinner, and taller V-shaped antennas

I know from your earlier posts that you are in a truck with an alumi-junk sleeper.If you have your TV hooked up by coax to the wall receptacle,you are hooked up to a built in TV antenna that is located in the roof of the sleeper.Believe me when I tell you that this is a very poor system,and you should look into another type of external antenna.DD.
I always had good luck with a set of Magnetic Rabbit Ears stuck to in the center of my roof.

Get naked and then wrap yourself in aluminum foil and stand on your truck roof. Don't attempt this during an electrical storm unless your power company reimburses you for energy returned to their power grid.
You can also use the roll of aluminum foil to send B.O.L.s. But I'm not exactly sure how.

This maybe too late to help you with the race but...
Let me explain first that the sleeper companies, regardless who they are, are not RF engineers. In some cases they are not engineers at all but that is for another post. Many times they just go to a catalog and pick one that will conform to thier 'design' while other times they just rig something up with a Radio Shack FM antenna (what I have with my Bentz sleeper). Most of the time they do not properly test them in areas outside of the factory and think that everyone will have the same reception as they do sitting under the TV tower.
Second the antennas that are built in are not made to last, they break.
Third, and I should have opened with this, it depends on where you are sitting to get some of the channels. Sounds stupid but it happens.
My reception is marginal at best with my "Factory" builtin antenna, even sitting in Chicago. When I arived in RIchmond, I could not get Fox. After I had my truck washed and pulled into the same spot, I got Fox without any problems, crisp picture. This morning, nothing.

What really bothers me is Moot said that with the conviction of someone who has done it, and proven that it works!
Moot, no dought you will be easy to recognize at a truckstop.
Has any drivers come over and asked if they can plug into your system long enough to catch the race or a movie? Or do you ever get people in white coats coming over and trying to engage you in conversation, telling you that you look very cold up there and they have a warm Jacket that they want you to try on?
Oh well, whatever works for you is OK by me.

One big problem in receiving FOX via air signal's that most truck stops are far away from the stations. If you can park closer in to the city reception gets better. There are amplified rabbit ears that will help.

The Kenworth I drive has a built in antenna that works well but I added a signal booster from Pilot that increased reception dramatically. If, however you invest in some rabbit ears, please wear them all the time so someday I'll be able to spot you. I've always been kind of prejudiced to the "BUNNIES"

put 1 foot in bucket of water hold antenna in 1 hand wait for good thunderstorm and hope it charges you up enough to get reception
