Turn signal

This thread is going in a bad direction.
Think it's time to go to a shop.
The advice being given to someone with little experience in these things I'm afraid may put him in worse shape.
If things go bad, he'll be in the shop for a major repair.
Go to a shop while it's a minor repair.
Why, oh why would you think this thread has gone in a bad direction? :p

Well everything sort of came out ok. I stuck a paper clip where the fuse goes but I couldn't find any smoke. Nothing was burning. What did seem odd is that when I turned the motor on the left turn signal wire in the pigtail had no current running through it. As soon as I turned the motor off it worked. Gonna work on it some more tomorrow

Seriously, you should find a mechanic before you mess up more than you are trying to fix.

You got possibly a small clue today.
While the motor was on the key is on.
The key being on did two things I imagine.
1) the key being on, motor running or not, probably energised your ABS hot wire in the bigtail.
2) the key probably caused your brake lights to come on.

Securely chock the truck, key on, check that pigtail wire for juice.
Now, key still on, release parking brake. Brake lights go off as if you're moving down the road ? If so, check wire in pigtail again.
I would think this may help determine if brake lights, or key in on position, is contributing to problem

Does anyone have a link to where I can get the wiring diagram for this truck? It's a 2007 Peterbilt 379

No I'm driving the truck but electrical work is expensive. I'd rather do it myself.
