So basically you feel that what they are saying is a bunch of rubbish. I was thinking from their spill that a person would be able to run pretty well out of this area to Woodhaven, Mi. with return loads back in this general area or at least that is what they led me to believe and being able to make a decent wage as well as home time on weekends. Is this a possibility or are they trying to blow smoke up my butt?
Not knowing what they told ya ppl can only assume what they told you and its a fair guess they didnt tell you the whole story maybe??
It is correct your in a good area for freight..A very good area.
What they may have not let you know is:
Sharronville is one of the few steady jobs they have. Sitting in Woodhaven it is very possible your sitting with many trucks hoping for a load down there..Providing the Canadian driver doesnt take it..Sharronville is perfect for the Canadain driver as it gives him good miles down and Guaranteed return trip home..Not a lot reason for them to Xdock this freight in Woodhaven. But it happens. If they follow rotation the day your in Sharronville and a Canadian driver comes in behind you,,Its a safe bet its going on him..If you go to Canada it will help but dont count on it.
Woodhaven to Sharronville is about 230 miles, ( Maybe 6 1/2 or 7 hours left on your book) Could be and should be a nice lil load if they turn you on the same log book page. Most times it does not happen that way. Pull a load no matter how short it is your going to bed for 10 plus hours most of the time..Very little pre planning over there for the US side. Due to time stamps on the Bridge crossing a Canadian truck will turn first.
They are so tied up with NLM down there I have seen and have been held there for days waiting on Ford freight coming out. They get the odd ball loads every now and then but mostly Fords out of Sharronville..Next closest load on a daily basis use to be Louisville KY out of Penske (NLM freight) Seemed like when your in KY ya deadhead to Sharronville and vise verse..
Keep in mind with the fleet coming down there on a daily basis and you being Domiciled there is a good chance even the US trucks from out of town will go around you. (if they follow rotation that day)
Remeber the Majority of freight will be Canadian thats just what they do.
And there is nothing wrong with that as long as your getting it on your truck. Some US freight but nothing I would have called regular other then Sharronville for the most part.
A rumor I am hearing after I left is any new O/O or Drivers goes on Elogs. Did they tell you that or discuss what kinda policy they have with the Elogs in place?
Enough about them and back to what you first asked.
Have you gotten a chance to get over there and look at the trucks they are offering?
I was thinking,, (Imagine that) Maybe a smart/good way to go about this maybe (if its the route you want to go or need to go)
Ask the guy leasing em out if you can run as a driver for him in his truck for awhile. He has pleanty of them signed on with TsT for sure. No lease, No Risk involed just run for him and it should give ya a good idea how things are and venture off into your own truck if you still want to go this route and lease to own. Give it a few months then decide with way to go.
Responded to your PM it should be up above..Sorry it took so long. I seen the date on it..LOL.
Using one of those smart phones now and havnt figured it all out yet. Never seen the PM untill I fired my laptop..Sorry again.
