TST Expediting

TST Expediting is a great company, if you want to sit around the locations of your drops for 2-3 days, without a reload, with a promise: there will be load tomorrow, and again tomorrow. And on the 3rd day, you will go home empty.
Or waiting at the boarders for 6-12 hours, paperwork in process, because TST staff made an error, or " forgot".
Or driving to a weird locations, far away, despite your better judgment, just because there is an immediate load waiting for you to come back. But surprise, surprise, dispatch lied, no re-load, you go home empty, barely covering your fuel cost.
And the "banana trucks"? OMG, drivers are walking away from them and just leaving them standing at the parking lots.
I've been with TST Expedited for 12 years, more like 12 nightmare years!
Dispatched on 2-3 hrs notice, and that's on a good day!
If you refused a load for whatever reason, even if you are out of hours, do not expect a load any time soon!
And if you really want to drive for them , make sure you budget some money from your income, to pay the dispatch and the management cash bribes on regular bases to keep you in a loop of elite drivers and somewhat busy.
I could go on and on, but I guess that's more enough info for now.
I quit driving for them 2 years ago, and that was the best decision I've ever made.
Good luck

If it's that bad, why stick around for 12 yrs to let them f**k you with no vaseline:confused:

12 years ago, I was a new driver, with no experience and was happy to be hired on as Owner operator.
The beginnings were not that bad, the economy was not that bad, fuel was not that expensive. I stayed that long under a promise of better loads and a promise of dedicated run.

To funny there Rocky.. I to stayed there to long. Not as long as you but to long..I to was fooled on the promise things would get better..Not sure which side of the bridge your on but me being a US driver that didn't cross. I'm sure that cut into my revenue some..Not a lot but some. knowing some US drivers that did cross they said they Always played second fiddle to the Canadian drivers.. At least TST openly admits rotation is a option.
Not trying to slam them here at all..I carved out aliving there and paid off a truck..I enjoyed working there with some great ppl.. Had some fun at the same time.. TST does nothing to retain quality ppl from the truck to the office they could care less if you come or go...We had a running Motto for them...TsT would love to have you but don't care if you leave..They live by that..

"TST would love to have you but don't care if you leave" I firmly believe that applies to more then just TST.

It would be interesting to hear some points of view from Canadian drivers leased to TST.

Most of my Canadian friends are leased onto FFX or Kdac Of Kitchener they wouldn't touch TST as much as they wouldnt touch dynamex owned by the same people now

A untruthful Recruiter? I find that hard to believe.:p

Back in 1999 2000 recruiter said 70% of our businesses General Motors... I asked if General Motors shuts down than 70% of the fleet is sitting to which he replied oh no we will keep you busy

Thanks for your input. I am curious why it took you 12 years to decide to leave them. Where were you located? I live in southern Ohio and met their recruiter at the 2013 Expediting Expo in Wilmington Ohio as well as a dispatcher on the Canada side I believe he said. They assured me that I lived in an ideal location because of some accounts in the Cincinnati/Sharonville area. What are your thoughts on that. I was told that they could keep me running steady but your experiences is quite to the contrary. Thank you for any response.
