Trying to get started

I know that central dispatch is a good site to go to for guys with 1ton trucks wanting to haul 3 to 4 cars. Can anyone tell me of any other websites to go to find loads for either small flat beds or 4 car carriers?

I think hot shot express has a brokerage. Not real for sure you might check them out.

if you have your own authority,just stop at most of the auto auctions,if you dont jhave authority,im not sure you want to haul cars in a pick up with 4 car trailer.most these companies ive checked on dont want to pay much

A 4 car hauler should be pulled by a medium duty truck , not a 1 ton . The gcwr for 1 tons is 23,000 lbs. . Even 3 cars usually gross over 26,000 lbs . A 1 ton pulling a 4 car hauler can count on constant checks by DOT and most of these will be roadside checks . You'd better have a CDL-A and an IFTA sticker . Then there is the liability factor if you are involved in an accident with a truck loaded way beyond its capacity .

Good advice here, I can add some more, a 1 ton pickup is NOT made to continously haul a trailer loaded with 3 or 4 cars, after replacing 2 engines, 2 trannys and one rear I finally wised up and got a single axle class 8 tractor with a sleeper. Fuel economy is not what it was, but I am saving way more on repairs and motel bills.

I agree on what you are trying to do with a 1 ton. I had a two car trailer and a 1 ton with lots of upgrades, (410 HP, modified trans/clutch, transcooler, lots of gauges to monitor what was going on). If I was going to 3 cars I would have added a much better Turbo to keep it cool. Your pushing you truck at two cars with upgrades and a keen eye on your gauges. If you want to go to three, you had better learn a lot about how your diesel ticks, how to upgrade and most importantly, how to drive, especially in the hills.
