Mind as well call it what it is. "Fees" are a profit centers for most carriers. What creates a adversarial relationship with drivers is the lack of transparency with these fees. Paying $5.00 to get your own money deposited is silly.
Many carriers are making money on QC, banking, various insurances you name it. One of the reasons some keep adding trucks whether they have loads or not. It is profitable to them whether the truck is moving or not.
Another one of those "follow the money".
Like a carrier that holds $50 a week for 20 weeks ($1,000) for "just in case" as a reason? Multiply times the OVER 300 trucks signed on and the carrier has the use of over A QUARTER OF A MILLION dollars of drivers money. Kind of hard to swallow. But again, maybe this is just the way y'all do things
