Greetings to All;
Got a few questions if anybody has a moment.
I'm in a cargo van, based in the Detroit area.
Kind of narrowed my choices down to two carriers: Try Hours and Express-1. I like what I see from both, their pay is similar, although it looks like Try Hours has a slight edge of about .03 per mile and a little less expensive satellite fee rental. (I've been trying to do research on the whole picture and not just the mileage rate.) They both seem to be pretty driver friendly from what I can tell from talking to drivers and recruiters alike, and their wesbites.
My questions are, which carrier do you think would keep you busy the most? I know that everyone gets "stranded" with a day or sometimes two day layover here or there. But would anybody have any input as to who might keep an O/O busier?
Along with that goes empty miles, I also wondered about empty miles and which carrier might have less.
And would anybody know which carrier might get me back to the Detroit area more often?
And another newbie question, can you choose to opt out of going to Canada? I really don't think I'd want to do that with a sometimes 3 hour wait at the bridge.
Any input you might have would be helpful and greatly appreciated.
Thanks, K9man
