I have my D unit up for sale, but don't seem to get many interested reply's. What's up? Is money really that tight? Am I asking too much.
It would be a great starter truck or a upgrade unit. It's loaded and a potential $ maker. I need to sell this truck so I can get another.
Look at ad # 2098 in the classifieds and let me know what I can do to sell this thing short of giving it away.
Thanks All

Hello Fred,

I took a look at your AD # 2098. Your right, this truck is totally loaded and looks great!

However, I did not see the asking price.

Thanks,
Lawrence

Hate to be the one to tell you this, but expedite trucks are a dime a dozen right now. You did not list a price on this truck, but by looking at it I am sure this one is not cheap. Sadly, I think you will not get right now what the truck would bring in a better market. If you have priced it to sell (AKA practically giving the darned thing away) you need to put the price in your ad.

Good luck!!

Crazy,

Good looking truck!! If I had credit I would buy it off of you! If I was to spec a truck that is about what I would want. (Except not a Freightliner...lol)

I'm afraid the others are right though, Its a buyers market out there right now. It will be tough to get what it is worth right now.:'(

I followed the link to his website. The contact info page has the price. "I have over $90,000+ invested and am asking $51,000".

I was hesitant to respond to this when you first posted the message. I am new to this business and only work at it part time (5-6 months per year). About 4 months ago I purchased a 1998 FL70, 250 hp, 6 speed with 370000 miles. The truck was clean and well maintained. The young man that "lost" it was quite disapponted, but took care of it. If sold last spring it would of gotten about $24,000; I paid less than $16,000 and had a list of items the dealer repaired/replaced. I would love to have purchased a truck like yours, but you would probably want too much in today's market. My guess is you are asking about $40,000.

I spoke to sellers that had posted trucks for sale on this web site and still had the trucks 6 - 8 months later.

Good Luck.

No question, that is a LOT of truck for $51k. Now, the big question...who is making enough money right now to afford the payments?

Thanks for the reply's. I know the market sucks right now so it's going to be tough. It just kills me to give it away after all the blood, sweat and tears I put in it (not to mention the $$ !!). I getting another truck so I guess I'll bide my time for awhile and see what happens. I might try to find a driver for it and then I could still keep it for awhile, but then I would be tempted to add more stuff to it that I'd never get back my money for !!!!

I have a couple of questions. First, you said that you are getting a new truck. I am guessing that the dealer offered you peanuts for the truck on a trade in. Right?

Second point. My guess is that most of the people on this site currently have trucks. If thinking about moving up and buying from the owner, we would still have to figure out what to do with our truck. If I had to look the new buyer in the eye, when selling this FL70 (cat 3126), I would be tempted to pay them to take it. x(

Hi Larry:
Yea, the dealer's are offering insulting amounts for the truck, anywhere from 12k to a high of 20k. There is nothing wrong with the truck and would not have a problem selling it to a freind or relative.
The dealers are just trying to make a buck in a soft market, hey they are in it to make a living too, I guess.

Take care
