I guess I am in a unique position in that I don't have any kids to worry about. Just me and my wife and this is the start to career number two. Actually the trailer has two floors so you could stack it and still have it on the floor. Not sure how that would work with maybe having two or three different loads to different places? Also I'm not sure, would something like this be in the same class as a OTR truck? If not you may pay more than a straight truck but less than a OTR rig.

With an expediting company you'll pretty much always just be going from one shipper to one consignee so the entire load would be for the same delivery. Some loads are almost as high as the inside of the box so the 'two story' system wouldn't work. You'd also have problems getting the 'upstairs' load in and out because the forklift can't go in to position or pick them up. For that matter, the forklift couldn't go in underneath the 'upstairs' to work the bottom floor either. I think a regular box is the only practical way to go. It's fun to think about various ways to do stuff but so far I haven't come up with any that beat the current method.

Thats true stuff although if I can get my cargo load system to work I wouldn't let the forklift into my box as the cargo would move to the back of the box on rollers. There are a couple of different ways one could go. Since the floor is so low on the trailer put in a higher floor and use that to load. This would give you tons of storage underneath. OR the top floor is only half way in the trailer meaning that half is fully open giving you all that head room. There are so many options that it would almost be too much to list honestly. You could have one of the lifts put in such as they use for car and just tracks along the sides of the trailers. This would open up the whole roof and you could even load a small car on the upper deck. You could do anything if you really wanted. Load the trailer with loaded sprinter vans and drive em out to deliver cargo. Do a night rider sort of off load while you are running down the highway!!! Look like that new chevy commercial with the car carrier!

Seriously though I am one who loves to push the envelope and think outside the box. Anything is possible if you feel creative enough!
