I never worked in a paint or detail shop but ya need to know what your trying to clean up I think. With today's finishes things have changed a bit.. Are you trying to bring back the clear coat look? You trying to clean the paint..Wash and wax is no longer the easy answer. Even some dish detergents can ruin a Finish I have been told. Only my thoughts but stay away from the acid and brightener baths if at all possible. Check with a detail shop if what your doing isn't working for you.
Me, I use McGuire products.. Why I don't know, other they seem to work and its fairly fast to wipe on wipe off.
One other thing..Beer is a requirement for this type of job.

Other than a once every 2 year sealer wax, I use Super Glaze made by a company calls The Wax Shop. Easy on easy off. Apply in sun or shade. Won't leave residue on anything black. It's a wax and cleans and has carnauba. The more you use it the slicker it gets. Affordable and goes along way. I have used this on my truck since new and over all been using it for 20 years. Really good product and most know how I am about my truck!

My son turned me on to Zaino products Zaino Store In the car business in a previous life, I've used my share of wax brands. Read up on this stuff. Zaino uses no carnuba and this stuff is tuff. I polish my truck thoroughly once a year and touch it up with a spray on freshener from Zaino in between. After 1.1 million the paint on the cab, sleeper and box still looks marvelous. I use bluebeacons and always tell them easy on the acid but I know it's in one ear and out the other, but it doesn't seem to phase the Zaino. The stuffs not cheap, I spend $80/yr on the product but the once a year thing is nice. Give it a good high speed polish with their cleaning product first time used and then just polish once a year after. Hard to beat the shine this stuff produces. Disclosure, I have no financial interest with Zaino brand other then what I spend each year buying product.

samlim, it is a good thing that you are a guest. As a regular member every time I place an umlaut over a "u" in a word that also contains the letters "f" and "k" I get a warning. If I do it a second time I get banned for a couple of weeks. What's the fükken deal with that?
