gregg.. I think your unto somethin...the latch is about an inch up and over the rad!!!! What ever lube is used is sure to dry up quickly.

Perhaps the answer lies with "Plumber's Heat Proof Grease". I use it to lube hot water faucet valves and it's impervious to the heat. Home Depot or Lowes carries it.

whattya mean it dried up quickly? you have what 150k on that monster? look at all the heat and the wind that grease has endured. i thonk you got off easy. it wAas telling you for how long it needed more lube?

i got a can of white lithium here in racine. call me when you are close. you have the number.

whaddya mean it dried up? you got what 150k miles on that machine? how long has it been telling you 'grease me daddy'?:)

i got a can of white lithium you can have when you deliver in racine. you have the number.

Boy I think me needs to upgrade the sway bar too....PA turnpike at 65-70mph in a wind and all them trucks...What a scary ride!!!!
