just to clarify a little...the 2 pics i post are different beasts altogether. the wysteria is actually an invasive vine that eventually causes the tree it climbs to die over time...the lilac is bush or shrub mainly found in the northern states.
my wifes aunt was visiting florida and lives in Thunder Bay, ON and has a yard full of lilac...my wife seen the purple stuff in SC on the way home and made me stop to gather some...thinking it was lilac...it wasn't, it was wysteria...which still smells good...but not like lilac does.
