Hey Guys,
I work for Transtewart, and these guy are awesome! Period! If anybody checks my past posts, you will see that I have been kicking around for a little bit, searching for that company to call home.
I thought I had found it a couple years ago, but things did not work out, and I was forced to move on. I bounced around with a couple of the larger companies, and you want to know something, I almost lost my proverbial arse!
I can not tell you the logistical reason why I could not make it work, but when it came down to it, it was a matter of me not working, for whatever reason.
I do not want to mention any names, but what I will tell you, is that these companies are all very professional, and I can not say anything bad, from a strictly professional point of view. They were not compatible with me, nor was I with them.
I was just on the verge of looking for some crappy 9 to 5, when in a depressed stupor, I was getting ready to make some final decisions regarding my career as an expediter, when I came upon Transtewart, and gave them a call. When I was done talking with Jerry Sr. and Sarah, I actually had a spark of hope and optimism re kindled in my soul.
These are very down to earth people that run a top notch company. I fit in perfectly. I am just about through my first month with them, and this is the best 30 day period I have had, EVER!!!!!
I just got back from a 2 week run, and the longest I sat for a load, was 34 hours, and that was because I had to get my re start, in order to reset my clock- ##### regulations!
While no owner operator likes deadhead mileage, it is a fact of life, and the percentage of deadhead I have done, if perfectly acceptable, from my point of view. In answer to a question already posed, no, they do not pay deadhead- but I can assure you, if I showed you the loads that I have taken, you would not care either.
I should probably end this note at this point, and simply say that if anybody has any other questions, I would be happy to answer any questions via personal messages. I am not trying to make this a Transtewart Pep Rally, but when you work for people as good as these, I feel compelled to offer any feedback to a potential owner operator that may want to sign on. Like I said earlier, in most cases, it is not a matter of whether or not these companies are professional and honest- no company, no matter how big or small, could stay in business, if they were not professional and honest- it is simply compatibility.
