Get a GM 6.0. Simple, reliable, durable and long lasting. Mile after hundreds of thousand miles.
I know , I have a couple of GM vans. But it is time for the new stile bigger vans....I dont know why not GM built a van on the existing engine and trany...

If they did, they would have ended up with a gas hog like the Envy, or the aerocel, unicel, etc. V8s are a thing of the past. Watch them disappear in a few years.

Tall and extended requires 4.11 rear end for the 3.7
Tall and medium length can have the 3.73 rear end with the 3.7 engine.
If you want 3.34 rear end on the tall and extended you can have the diesel or the ecoboost.

The online configurator is correct.

Be kind and explain to me what is the difference between 4.11 and 3.73 rear end?I dont know the difference...Thanks

Axle ratios are expressed as the number of revolutions of the transmission's output to turn the wheels once. A 4.11 rear axle ratio is lower geared than a 3.73. The drive shaft will need to make 4.11 revolutions to turn the wheels once. So the higher the number, the lower the gearing. For highway driving a higher gear ratio, like a 3.73 is more fuel efficient.

Transmission gearing also affects fuel mileage. The Transits have a 6 speed transmission with the top two gears being overdrive. Choosing the right combination for your specific use is important. Geared too high your vehicle could spend too much time in the 5th gear at highway speeds with excessive downshifting.

From what I've seen on the Ford Transit forum the people that got the diesel engines are doing pretty good with them. But diesel engine sales are definitely lagging far behind gas engine sales.
