Where can one purchase or who has ever made a ramp to lie between two trucks to hand transfere a load. Not all trucks line up right? Purchased a pallet jack so I need something to hold up to the weight.

Broom: This is an imperfect world we live in. Maybe you should move one truck to higher ground and the other to lower ground so they might meet up + - . If they still don't meet up then move again.
Not exactly rocket science but it works. As far as a dock plate all you need is something you can manage (move around by yourself) store
efficiently (small). And is wide enough for a pallet jack to traverse. EASY

I wouldn't worry about it.As a team you will not see that many transfers,most trucks line up within an inch or two of each other. Big Time labor will get the stuff across LOL Also many transfers are dock to dock at a facility that is set up in advance. Minor note,if you are asked to do a transfer run suggest a location that gives you as much bucks as possible and they usually go along.

facilitys. Do you want to be a player or not? Broom must want to be
a player, or, he would not be interested in HOW. It is all about the rate for some. Others want to know CAN I GET IT DONE. And that is

Nah.. he just works for FedExCC.. LOL.. as much as people complain about them, I handled many transfers...and they never asked me transfer a load by hand... they ALWAYS had us meet at a cross-docking facility..

Look into New haven Moving and Storage Equipment, they have a web site. You need to carry at least a piece of heavy gauge aluminum for door thresholds or use into elevators, etc. They will ship your plate to your truck dealer or your home, just home delivery a little extra. You should get there catalog anyway. There is a lot of cool gadgets for moving freight. Good luck.
Actually I do have a small plate with 2 studs in it that I use to lower the angle of my lifthate when it is on the ground.I had two holes drilled into the gate and lock the plate in place. helps to get items onto the gate and I can use it for a transfer as my pallet jack will fit on it.
Most of the transfers I have done recently are at a FDX Freight facility.

We use a 3/4 thick board, 6" wide and 6' long, with a cheap rubber mat over it. Works great, cheap and easy to store. We have had to transfer FedEx CC freight at some of the darndest places, including truck stops and repair shops and a weight station once.

Do you tack or nail that rug to the board so it won't slide? Great idea. I was thinking to let the rug hang over a couple of inches as to get a smoother running start.Kraig Allen

Took the advice of the 3/4 plywood, Extra Heavy duty also very smooth stronger than average plywood. Took a rubber matt no carpet, cut it in half, ramp is 24x60 small but should work between the trucks if they back up to each other? I am just wanting to transfere loads not make a bridge. Bolted the matt onto the board, sunk the holes so the bolts don't stick up and then cut them off flat surface. Also cut a piece of molding to push up against the ramp for not such a strong bump when starting to cross over the ramp. Now if will not break from use. Also picked up some steaks if I have to support it underneith. The rubber will not let it slide at all, just wood surface. Thanks for your help now the real test from a Newbee. Very light maybee 20lbs.
