I have seen some people on here that have had a bad time over at TS.
I am a owner that is thinking of putting a van on with them over there.
Should I look somewhere else?

Hello Cozy2963

I just been on with TranStewart for 2 weeks. I just got home and seen all the postings, And like always there are 2 sides to every story. Now before that post went up I had not come across anything negative so all I will say is, given where I was and my situation I am at this point Happy With TranStewart in a D-Unit. There are good and bad points with every carrier and switching will cause you to maybe take a hit. I had too make a move and all so far is ok.

Honestly, what you said doesn't add up. If they really lost $3300, why would you stay with them? Likewise, if they don't have enough freight.

Also, 10% is norm with some companies. You find that out before you sign on by asking them. The company I'm with takes 3 weeks to pay, and charges 10% for advances. This encourages owners to have money for fuel.

Not sure why this post is being 'updated' or deleted or whatever at this time....however, I just left Trans Stewart after 10-12 months.

The only reason I left was the o/o wanted to place a team in the truck and I was not willing to be part of a team.

TStewart and the o/o was always fair with me, never had a pay or settlement issue, and never had a problem with a fuel card.

In fact, this company and the o/o bent over backwards for me during a family emergency, so as far as I am concerned all this moaning about getting shafted by TS seems to be more about someone not being able to operate and manage their own decisions and business operation within their own truck - I don't believe TS should be attacked for someone elses bad decision...IMO

and also....I never sat more than a day with them and that was in Kansas City or somewhere like that........all their charges are spelled out in the contract, I know I saw the o/o contract with them........

my question is - do you sit because they don't have freight or do you sit cause you will not go to New York, the east coast, Chicago, etc etc.......

i have learned one thing in this business if nothing else.........its' easier to ***** and moan about someone else not being fair and honest than it is looking at yourself and taking stock in what you are doing wrong or simply failing to do.........

I had the best o/o in the business when i was with TS - I learned alot and that was to improve on my own performance, actions, and service along with alot of the ins and outs of this business..................so take a look at yourself, admit you didn't understand the contract, the business, the ins and outs of the trucking and expedite business and learn from your mistakes.........and find a mentor like I was lucky to have and LEARN!

:mad:what she was trying to explain was me and my father come home and we went to go back on the board our fuel cards are turned off we asked them can you please turn them on they say no our computer shuts them off we have no control over them but you can fuel up after you pick up the load they might come back on, so the point is someone is lying were are not stupid u guys can joke about it but truly they have done some stupid things like lost 3300 dollars worth of my fathers trips and then tell him that he owed them that in insurance also they dont pay like they say they do all the time i sent in a trip pack and it took them 2 weeks to get the trip pack processed i went and picked my truck up and ran with nothing on the truck exxcept for a change of clothes and when i asked for them to send me down were i live they would act like they didnt hear me.but this is what started all of it my father drove for them for a month and the whole time he recieved a 236 dollar deposit out of about 10 trips sent in. Ok and when something goes wrong they either talk to you like its your fault or like you are 5 years old laugh all you want but if you go there dont say i didnt tell you so also they dont have enough freight to keep you running i have sat all weekend several times and when your truck is low on fuel they wont allow to fuel unless your under a load they also charge you 300 dollars for there decals they way over charge for plates they charge you everytime yiou fill up and if you get a draw there is a 10 percent charge on it as well so you tell me they are all about there money wich i dont blame them but they will leave you on the side of the road if it had some kind of benefit to them as well.

Beings this is my SECOND post maybe it'll stay up.

There has always been, and always will be people who cannot be responsible for their own well being and welfare. The results of those actions 800 years ago were prolly not totally satisfactory to the actor without the welfare we have today.

Each time I read of such foolishness as this.......i'm amazed. Folks like this can't/won't survive with any company, be my guess. Sorry.

I Don't Believe that You have to use their Fuel Cards if you Don't want to, I Use my Own! You can get your own and Pre-Load it out of every settlement, That way you will always have Fuel! Sitting on the weekends isn't anything New with Expediting, Your Gonna Sit Most of the time on Weekends Especially if you run Solo! Sure, There are Some Over the weekend Runs mostly for Teams and "Some" Solos But they are Far and Few Between! Usually when I Off Load on a Friday I Plan on Sitting the Weekend because that's the Nature of the Beast! (Not Always) So I Try and Find a Good Location to sit with a High Load Count. But Most of the Time You are Gonna sit So ya better Plan on sitting when the weekend Rolls around! If your Having trouble getting Paid, then I suggest you start with your Recruiter and see what is Going on and if your not satisfied with his/her answers then climb the Chain Until you can get the Right answers. I was with a Company once who Liked to Play games with the Settlements of Not only me But a Number of Owners and Phone Calls weren't doing it! I Had to do a Personal Visit to the Office and wait for him to show his Face so WE Could Talk Face to Face and Finally get it Straightened Out! They are Still in Business so if anyone is Interested in this Company to Stay away from them then P.M. Me! Good Luck with Whatever Your Going to do! :D

what she was trying to explain was me and my father come home and we went to go back on the board

I didn't get a chance to read the original post but ... I think it would be better that you read some of the forum for a bit to understand what's going on.

our fuel cards are turned off we asked them can you please turn them on they say no our computer shuts them off we have no control over them but you can fuel up after you pick up the load they might come back on,

Now it is turned off? What does that mean? Either they are canceled or they are in a hold position with no funds available or they just don't have any money. So please clarify.

so the point is someone is lying were are not stupid u guys can joke about it but truly they have done some stupid things like lost 3300 dollars worth of my fathers trips and then tell him that he owed them that in insurance also they dont pay like they say they do all the time i sent in a trip pack and it took them 2 weeks to get the trip pack processed i went and picked my truck up and ran with nothing on the truck exxcept for a change of clothes and when i asked for them to send me down were i live they would act like they didnt hear me.

The first thing I would suggest is when you send stuff in via tripak, always follow up with the company. I have had more cr*p missing, like logs than if I scanned and emailed them.

To expect them to send you somewhere, maybe you need to understand that you should never expect that.

There is nothing lost, you don't lose $3300 of the A/R. You can legally ask for the paperwork.

but this is what started all of it my father drove for them for a month and the whole time he recieved a 236 dollar deposit out of about 10 trips sent in.

Again did you check to see if they received it?

Ok and when something goes wrong they either talk to you like its your fault or like you are 5 years old laugh all you want but if you go there dont say i didnt tell you so also they dont have enough freight to keep you running i have sat all weekend several times and when your truck is low on fuel they wont allow to fuel unless your under a load they also charge you 300 dollars for there decals they way over charge for plates

Well join the club, many companies treat people like babies because many people don't understand this is a business – I'm getting tired of repeating it. I sit most weekends, and to expect not to is not you should be doing. It don't matter what others may say, a lot of times people sit. NO company will not allow you to fuel, but again it seems that someone told you this is easy money.

they charge you everytime yiou fill up and if you get a draw there is a 10 percent charge on it as well so you tell me they are all about there money wich i dont blame them but they will leave you on the side of the road if it had some kind of benefit to them as well.

Yes they do charge you, it is part of the business thing and some companies charge more than 10% even though it doesn't cost them anywhere near 10% to put money on the card. If it is a problem, then I would offer this suggestion, this is a business and it is not easy one at that so be prepared to carry yourself for a bit until you learn the business.

We didnt thats why we are home now. You must have worked for them. what do you mean it does add up its simple they just told him today of the trip packs he sent in they lost them, and then called him back and said he owed it to them i personally done have a problem with them i was fine other than the two week pay thing when THEY SAY THEY PAY NEXT DAY
and they dont

A lot of this doesn't add up because it is a business and you have to treat is as such. If the tripaks are lost, then fax them copies of the POD. As I said, check to see if they got them a few days after you sent them in.

im new to trucking and i know im not gonna drive for a company to were if i have to sit in a diffrent state i dont want to worry about running out of fuel and them turning the fuel cards off all the time man im not gonna argue about all of this is apprant either you work for them you have nothing else bettwer to do then make fun of other people.

If you don't want to do that stuff, then get something that you will enjoy because a lot of the times you will sit and sit and not like it at all.

All i know the whole time i worked for them 95 pecent of my runs were between 300 and 500 miles and you say save money lol yea right. i had 2 runs over 500 miles thats it either you have to take them or sit what would you do?

Those aren't bad but ... it depends on your expectations.

SO here is the thing James, this is a business as I said. This business has a lot of money involved and to expect to make money in it you have to treat it like a business. Many are lucky that they can turn a buck and enjoy what they are doing as they go haphazardly through their expediting life but the reality is they may be a second away from ruin. The hard reality is no one cares about you or me except you or me respectfully and we must arm ourselves with the right things; attitude, knowledge on what this is all about and professions like a lawyer and an accountant who will advise you to protect you.

Most of the time people will jump into this without understanding what's it all about and then blame the company for their failure – happens a lot.

Yep, like Xcol said some people just don't want to take care or know how to take care of themselves let alone their truck - which weather they own it or just drive it - its' their own little business!

Listen to someone who piXXed and moaned and always blamed someone else for his misfortunes - 99.999% of the time ITS YOUR OWN DARN FAULT because you failed to listen to experienced advice or you failed to just simply have a professional business plan!

Sorry, I know....I'm an idiot, but....I did laugh at myself at least! I myself would be more understanding if "the system went down" or something along those lines.....

just to add a little something here. I make copies of everything and i mean everything just in case there ever is a problem with any paperwork. That was something that was passed on to me the day I signed my first contract. I pass that mon to others all the time and now with laptops and scanners it is so much easier. Also Happy New Year to all and may it be a busy and profitable one for us all.

to all the ones who read my original post you guys give no pity do you anyway all was taken care of i would of expected a little more out of this place but i am still with tran stewart what you guys didnt know is my father was driving a tractor and not a 24 ft box i am happy with tran stewart i never really had a problem all i knew was what my father was telling me and it didnt sound right Sarah has always been great to me and so has dispatch it just upset me that everyone on here is so quick to blame the driver no one goes out and purchases a 40,000 dollar truck to sit and complain about someone and not make money my father truly felt that way and to all who says they never used a company fuel card is and full of it i like tran stewart and have bought another truck but i do know something not to count on the expediting community to talk to because when there is a problem it is all the drivers fault i am really surprised by this website i would of expected atleast one person not to be a critic.

Let me tell you something, my father and I have hauled super heavy loads, war heads, nasa ****, dry vans, reffer units, and also my father has 35 years under his belt, and has also driven about everymake of tractor out there even you have to respect that. It is so up setting that everyone one on here has such a negative out look on people who have problems. Are you going to tell me you never had a problem with a company?

I'm not saying that at all. I'm just saying I've never used a fuel card. Thank you for the courtesy of punctuating your post. It really does make it easier to read.
