This is not so much a Ti-oter thing as it is Honda, but, Honda is building a new production plant here in my backyard, that will produce Civic sedans beginning fall 2008. Wages have been announced for production associates starting at $14.84 and increase to $18.55 in 24 months. Seems to me, this is more in line with a company being able to be profitable than our slackers in the big three, whom earn twice and seem to do half or, less (just my observation). Additionaly, each start up plant models their success autonomously from all other Honda entities, giving them free hand to use/work with the resources that walk in the door. It certainly has to be refreshing for the management at Honda to be out from under the procedural requirements set by someone sitting in an Ivory palace a few hundred/thousand miles away or, our wonderful UAW.

We certainly do, reap what we sew.

ok its gonna take me some time to read everyones postings......
and that boating story was a good read.........
i have to say ..... this
from my experience......
everytime i go to a american car plant..... i get treated like... i am stupid..... they take there own sweat time to unload me... and get looked upon like i am below them..... i am talking about the dock workers... and such.
now i go to a toyota or nissian .. even honda plant..... and they r nice.... polite.... and to unload me.... they r right on it.
what does this say for americans...... being there for other americans??
same with the canadian boarder...... i thinks its awful... and what can we do about it??

I have to be honest here...My last 4 deliveries 2 at DC and 2 Ford have been pleasant.

I was told to deliver at plant by NLM but DC wanted it at Logistics the linker actually mapquested it and directions!

@ Ford(Torrence) my strap wasn't long enough cause I had to hug pallet instead of thru bottom to drag it off the Tow lift operator actually found another chain and got OFF his lift to help!

@ DC Belvidere there was a shift change(no tow lifts) and 2 of the Ladies and I acually lifted the pallet out of van so I get some sleep!!

Could it be possible the UAW has heard of their reputation and instructed the members to be nice to us??

Nawwww...

Nawwww... is right. Should be, they (the smart ones) are actually beginning to think (maybe) just maybe, their jobs really are in jeopardy. It's not a right of passage any longer, I guess.
