Watching a show about Sturgis with a segment on the burnout contest. The idea is to burn the rear tire up until it explodes. That's right, take a good tire and destroy it at a cost, according to the contestant they interviewed, of $200-300. That's definitely a case of dumb and dumber.

Ah Leo..... sorry ya don't get it lol. I have shredded a few tires in my time... never on my bikes, but on cars and trucks. It's just a visceral, noisy, smokey case of blowing off steam! We usually did it with old used tires, but still!

Burnout contests are fun!

Bleach burnouts are fun too lol.

Love the smell of burning rubber!

Well, if they were talking about $20 that would be a different situation but $200-$300? That's just crazy not to mention socially irresponsible. Al Gore is spinning in his grave!! Well, his mental grave anyway since he's got to be brain dead with what he's espousing.

Ya know, I could see you starring in the made for TV movie, "As the Sphincter tightens"...

Nah, I have no interest in watching a show about that Pennsylvania flipper politician.

Watching a show about Knob Creek with a segment on the machine gun contest, followed by the flame thrower competition. The idea is to shoot up a perfectly good belt of ammunition, spewing high speed lead projectiles. That's right, take a good belt of ammunition and destroy it at a cost, according to the contestant they interviewed, of $200-300. That's definitely a case of dumb and dumber. I'll drink to that! Hey Mr. Ammunition man, give me another shot of Knob Creek and a belt of 45 cal.

After the shootem up contest they break out the flamethrowers. The idea is to melt the spent lead into the ground for future generations to mine. That's right, burn perfectly good fuel at about $3.00/gallon for amusement.

What would really be cool is to take the flame throwers to a pile of old truck tires. Better yet, shoot up a pile of old trucks and then breakout the flamethrowers. Or shoot a bunch of Sturgis bikers and throw their bodies on a truck tire pyre.

The best burnouts are the ones that are followed by a quarter mile pass.

I like to think I don't waste anything on my hobbies and I definitely don't burn up $200-300 in a matter of a minute or so.

what if that is all those guys did. save up their money for that one time a year . so they can burn up their own tire that .they worked hard to make the money that they save up for that one time .

i like to hunt deer . i spend about 200$ every year just to go hunting once a year . some years it was spend 200$ to sit in my own woods for 2 days . i didnt even see a deer in the 2 days . yes deer season is 2 weeks but i only got off work for 2 days . and i have other hobbies to . that i spend money on .

Obviously anyone can spend their money on anything they choose. For your $200 you get a couple of days r&r, solitude, time to reflect and maybe a deer and for their $200 they get one minute plus lungs full of burned rubber smoke. Yours seems a far better use of $200.
