Canada To work in US soil for Canadan drivers....

Dear Friends,

I am a Canadian Citizen, and working one of the US Company as an owner operator in Detroit...

Basically, taking goods From US to Canada or From Canada to US.

Not in US City to another US city....

I don't have work authorization in US.

My question is, can I obtain legal work authorization in US. as a Canadian citizen..??

What is the proper way to apply for it...

I don't want to do something wrong, because of lack of knowledge...

Ok, we may have to move this post to the Loading Dock after I make this political statement...

For whatever reason the US has always been hostile to legitimate labor from north of the border. It has - for whatever reason preferred unqualified, illegal immigrants from Mexico - who are a tax on the legal and social system.

I have lived in the US almost all of my adult life and am totally confused at this legal quagmire that the US has created. It REWARDS illegal aliens from south of the border. President Bush seems to lead the pack on this issue.

I agree with Lawrence. I don't think we have a immigration policy either. Alot of those problems are related to the earlier NAFTA agreements and the GAT accord. I am not sure either one is good for the U.S. Have to be careful as well.....could get to politcal!
