TND 700 GPS / How to enter a Hwy address?

All,
My Uncle drives trucks and he has a Randall McNally TND 700 GPS System in his truck.

I helped him learn how to use it, but now he is trying to add this address to it: 6199 Hwy W, Allenton, WI 53002

It is not letting him enter the "Street Name", which is Hwy W.

How do we enter this type of street name into the system?

Once we do that then it will take us to the screen to enter the street number which would be 6199.

Can anyone help with this?

Chances are it is CR-W....put in CR...then when the screen listing the roads comes up, choose "list" from the right top corner...the next screen will list all the CR roars, scroll to CR-W...

the 6199 CR-W does come up....there you go

Is it Cross Road West?

Normally CR in this situation means "County Road..."

Another place that we find this issue a lot is in Texas.

yeap those FR "farm roads' create a pain alot of times...

FM roads or farm to market roads is what we call them. Not sure if we made that up or it is fact!

You are right, they are FM roads..when I posted it i was thinking there were FR's and MR's..but yea they are FM and yeap, Farm to Market is it!!

in this situation on our garmin, the cr, fm, us, hwy or any abbreviations are not needed. in the address given we would have just put in the road # and as the rest of you stated they come up. with the exception that i dont have to choose list they are just automatically populated.

That's the way I do it too... just use the #, then pick what your looking for.

Always check the zip code once you have an address found.

4. Put in Oakwood, scroll down list to Oakwood, VA
5. Under street name put US 460


as soon as you as you hit the "U" US-460 comes up

He tried that from your instructions, but then it gets to the part where it is asking him for a house number.

He tried to enter "460" but it says it is an invalid entry.

What does he put in for that?

I don't have a house number to try.

US-460 comes up first, I enter that, then it asks for a house number.
