how much time does your carrier allow to deliver your cargo. I understand it is time sensitive stuff, but are the delivery times realistic?

We drive slow, 57-62MPH. So far we have never been late for a pick-up or delivery. A little over 3 years now. The trick is stop as little as possible. We also stay on suggested routing as much as possible. If we have problems beyond our control, traffic jams, weather etc, we either call or send a message right away with the details. They will bump the times as needed. No problem, just slow and steady. Layoutshooter

The load I'm on now is 615 miles, with 26 hrs to get it there - I think that's pretty reasonable, lol.
If the delivery is unrealistic, I just say no - it's not worth the risks.

we drive 58 MPH or less .
almost s all of our loads are MLN(lmn /nlm or something...)
have a 15 minutes window to PU and the same for del.
never had any problem getting there on time .
it can be tricky at time if you dont know where you are going ,trip planing is the key ,
and so is getting ready for the ride .
fueling up before hand if possible,
you will need to have every thing you need for the drive within reach , that's include your food, maps ,QC (god forbidden) ,cell-phone,tetris ,laptop,a good book ,gps, your music, logbook(if apply),mentos,Listerine, wallet,XM,phonebook, money,
microwave, refrigerator, eye wear/sunglasses ,5 hours energy, drinking water,
and the accident kit.

Wow Moose that 15 minute window really adds a lot of stress I would be a nervous wreck over that.

The shorter the load the less time you have. When we are on loads less than 300 miles we rarely stop for anything. As Steve has said though on the longer runs we have more than enough time to get there. We drive our slow speed and deliver early. Just in time to us is an hour at minimum. Being late is just not an option for us and if the anything slows us down from traffic to the weather we send in a message right away and it does not matter if the load is 100 miles or 3000 miles we still send in that message.

I also agree with Moose we keep everything close to us plenty of water, snacks and anything else we might need so we do not have to stop to just go back and get a bottle of water. We do though when we stop for a restroom break try to park as far away as we can so as to get a little extra walking in.

Has anyone really read the question, hes not asking how long you take to deliver, how much time does the company give you to deliver. For instance, most the companies hauling FedEx Express freight are given a 52 mph average to deliver, not much time to stop.FECC, our customers are given 45mph.As was stated before. If traffic or weather slows you down, only takes a qualcom message to bump the time.On the shorter runs a little more difficult to keep on time.Safety takes precedence

I tell my customers the time it will take based on a 50 mph average. This seems to work well for both myself and my customers.
