Rich,
Sorry to hear of your misfortune. I met you this year at MATS and enjoyed talking to you. Thank God you were able to make it to the hospital safely. Like the others have said "please stay in touch" and let us know how you are doing. Your contribution to this site is irreplacable. Good luck and God Bless.

Rich, I am so glad you came through this okay. Things happen for a reason, always, you may not see it at first but sooner or later you do.

I hope youcontinue to do well and I will say few words to someone I trust very much just to assure you do. Good luck and for goodness sake enjoy some good ole home time.

Update, first of all I want to thank everyone for their kind words, thoughts and prayers.I saw a Dr today and all is well. The device has only kicked in about 1 % of the time which is a good sign. He also said that I could probably continue on if I wanted to but at this time I am ready to get off the road.

KWish asked me knowing what I know now would I do it all over again?
The answer is 99% yes. While the income was adequate the freedom was priceless. I came from a harsh corporate world with a miserable sob of a boss and routinely worked 60 hours per week. So having the freedom to take Tuesday off if I felt like it was one of the main reasons I have stuck it out for 20 years.

I will miss coming through the Gorge on I 40 at about 0630,running on I 10 from San Antonio to El Paso,I 90 throught Idaho and Montana and it goes on. I will not miss the NorthEast,Chicago, any where in Southern California and the wonderfull UAW workers.

I will also miss the Expo this year and am disappointed as it will be the best one ever plus I will miss Cheri's PARKING LOT PARTY. Have one for me. Once again thanks for all of your support

Hiya Rich,

For starters I want you to know you're in my thoughts. Quite often, things have a funny way of working out for the best, though during the time when things are tough ya often wonder how. I hope you continue to keep posting here no matter what your career path ends up being.

Your comments are generally informative, accurate, & positive in nature w/out going overboard on the dream side of things. By this I mean you're apt to let someone know they CAN succeed but yet aren't telling someone who's never done this to go buy a 150K truck. In a nutshell, I feel you have what might be called a balanced positive approach. I hope you're able to take the same attitude you have in trucking & use it to get your health back. Best of wishes to you.

Regards,
Danny

So now Rich what are you gonna do? Go to Disneyworld or write a book? I'm sure you could pump out a best seller!

Best Wishes

Do you think Rich could beat everyone else to the punch and get the book wrote so we would all know how to make a million dollars? Go for it Rich.

So Danny, I guess you're saying that Rich is the Fox News of expediting, fair and balanced?

Glad to hear you're doing well Rich. I was hopeing as the days passed you would reconsider the Expo. I'm with you on the freedom that being an O/O provides. Since I'm a LONG way from my million in this the freedom is a big factor. Take care.
