Ironically, journalistic "ingenuity" is not a bad turn of the phrase. Ingenuity is cleverly inventive or resourceful.

"Or will this undermine the journalistic ingenuity of those who think they are above the law?"

Wikileaks itself is pretty ingenious, and those who think they are above the law may have to be even more ingenious in the future. :D

Profit? For risking OTHERS lives? Bet HIS life was NEVER on the line, until now. He deserves what EVER bad happens to him!! He could cost MANY their LIVES!! Of course, I bet there are those who LIKE the idea that U.S. lives could be lost due to the actions of this jerk. Maybe even some in here!!

Let's not forget about PFC Bradley Manning who is suspected to be the source of most of the critical documents. The military and the US Govt needs to be more selective of those who receive "Top Secret" security clearances. Maybe this will also motivate the Pentagon to seriously consider upgrading their security systems as well. There will always be self promoters like Julian Assange, but the ones that need to be eliminated are traitors like Manning - a disgrace to his family and his nation. Hopefully the military will have more strict qualifications for people that have access to critical information. I'll bet PFC Manning is really looking forward to his extended stay at Ft. Leavenworth.

Did you just say that you think that there are people on this board that hope US citizens are killed? Thats pretty much over the top LOS. (put mildly)

Most of those to which LOS referred probably don't wish for US citizens to lose their lives - they probably just don't understand the consequences that can result from this breach of security, and that serious loss of life can be one of those consequences.

Except for one member, I don't believe anyone wants to see anyone actually harmed.
But many members may be a wee bit skeptical at the government's claims, particularly when they basically say "Trust us. We can't tell you, because it's Top Secret, but trust us, we're working for you."
Just don't look behind the curtain!

I feel that there is nothing less than death that should be handed out for this crime. We need to stand firm on this issue, no plea bargain, no bowing to pressure but a military trial and an execution.

Must be having a brain fart, who on this site actually wants to see someone killed because of PFC Manning?

Yep - Time Magazine is right in there with the other bastions of print media:

"Some of the well-known titles with dramatic single-copy declines included W, down 41.7 percent to about 25,000 for an average issue; Newsweek, down 41.3 percent to about 62,000 (Newsweek had decreased the number of copies on sale, noted a spokesman); SmartMoney, down 37 percent to about 26,000; Time, down 34.9 percent to about 90,000; Good Housekeeping, down 30.7 percent to 395,000; and Redbook, down 30.1 percent to 126,000."

Magazines' Newsstand Sales Fall 9.1 Percent - NYTimes.com

Notice also the figures on Newsweek; although the economy is certainly a factor, the public who now have access to a greater variety of information sources are now discarding some of the old mainstream print media as unreliable and biased schills of the political left.

That is EXACTLY what I meant. Our press and others have KILLED U.S. Soldiers in our current war. ANYONE who hurts our Nation or supports those who hurt it is my enemy. That simple. Wikileaks is an enemy. Period.

I was out enjoying a REAL LIFE!! Not this online silly stuff.

It is always sad to see people revel in watching criminal activity. Sad when that activity will cost lives and limbs and KNOWING that some ENJOY this. How VERY sad it is.
