1. It's a stupid bill.
Asian carp are from Asia, hence the name, "Asian Carp"
2. They are NOT European carp, like other carp in the US, they are "Asian Carp". From Asia.
3. ALL carp in the United States, and Canada for that matter, are "invasive carp", there are no native carp here. so THAT name is also incorrect.
4. It is SO stupid it is easy to see it was proposed, and passed, by politicians, of which there are very few with an active brain.
This kind of stupidity is not new. There is a diver duck, primarily on the oceans and Great Lakes, known now as the "Long Tail" duck. They were NOT always known as "Long Tail" ducks, for more than 100 years they were known as "Old Squaw". It was amazing just how close the world came to ending by calling them "Old Squaw" and it was considered a "blessing" to mankind when they changed the name to "Long Tail"
It was very expensive rebranding all of those ducks.

Did I mention that these carp WERE imported from Asia? I wonder if that is why they used to be called Asian Carp. Since that is what they are. How much are they going to spend to re-label all those carp? It cost the US Fish and Wildlife Service $29.968 MILLION to re-brand all the "Old Squaw".

They are NOT "Canadian Geese". The correct term is "Canada Goose(se), of which there are around 14-16 sub-species, depending on which biologist you talk to. The particular sub-species to which you refer to as "invasive" is known as the "Giant Canada" goose. That particular sub-species was at one time considered extinct, until, are you ready for this one, a small remnant population was found on a lake in the Great State of MINNESOTA! They were reintroduced from there. SO, they are NOT invasive, no matter WHAT that numbskull state senator you have MIGHT try to come up with!
